There was a Canadian online store I used to buy DVDs and HD-DVDs from, dirt cheap even after shipping. They were all American movies but specifically packaged for the Canadian market.

Russian history exam done. Got 12 in the new grade system, I'm still not exactly sure what that is on the old system which I'm more use to. But supposedly it's an A on the yank-scale.

I save nearly 50% buying DVDs of a Canadian tv series from amazon.ca over the same DVDs from amazon.com, even though we have near parity on currency value. :hmm:

Eh! At or near parity stuff will usually be 7% more expensive in Canada.

The Turkish Cultural Community in Austria is filing a complaint against LEGO. Reason: their version of Jabba's Palace would be a copy of the Hagia Sofia.

"What does LEGO suggest parents as Christmas present ofr their kids? Pure Racism?"
"The Muezzin as criminal with axe and machine gun."
"Same roof as the mosque"

LEGO replied that they just replicated the setting from the movie, end of story.

So the community goes on: "Well, then the movie is at fault: a palace built like a mosque, with a fat criminal/slaver/terrorist smoking water pipe(!) and doing human sacrifice - clearly fostering prejudice against middle eastern cultures!"

They also complain about the "red-black devil" on the box that shows clearly this is not suited for children. And that LEGO should stop producing any toys with weapons.

Wasn't there an exterior shot of Jabba's hut in the movie?

I didn't know the Hagia Sophia was built to be a Mosque.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
