My cousin's request for permanent political asylum (or whatever the hell it's called) in the UK: DENIED

So she's coming back to the U.S. with her tail between her legs.  She's too embarrassed to move back to Florida, so she, her husband & daughter are going to settle somewhere in the Carolinas.

Our next family get-together will be: interesting.

Normally I remember these things, but indulge me, why is your cousin requesting political asylum in the UK?

In a nutshell, she lost a custody battle she probably should have won (though she didn't help her cause much), and decided she didn't want to live in a country that would let that happen.
