aha um, y'alls enthusiasm is appreciated, as is your advice.

The lady is fun enough. I could perhaps be persuaded if she would swear fealty to our Southern Confederacy, I'd certainly consider it.

But actually, I just don't have the energy or will to argue about the South much anymore, and the idea of re-casting someone in a galvanized image doesn't appeal to me at all. I'd like someone I liked as they were- I may have to cut corners with my principles, or be extremely picky and accept loneliness. I just don't know. Dating isn't a charming prospect to me, but I am so unaccustomed to being so utterly alone.

As I vacate my dorm for a few hours for my roommate and his missus, I will have time to reflect on this.
