Yeah.

Bad news is a small fissure just opened up closer to town which is inside the area that had been walled off by massive berms. Looking pretty bad right now as you can see.

Today I learned that the United Farm Workers of America use an interesting flag for their organization:

I thought that kind of design (red, white circle, black emblem) fell out of favor ca. 1945.
I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.

From the wikipedia article:

"At the mortuary, UFW supporters unfurled their union flag—and then the trouble began. The bold red flag with its black Aztec eagle in a white circle had long been controversial in the Central Valley. During the 1960s grape strike, the growers used to call it "Chavez's Trotsky flag." Even UFW members were initially unnerved by the powerful image. When the flag was first displayed to the fledging union membership in 1962, some workers complained that it looked like a Communist flag, others that it resembled a Nazi banner. "It's what you want to see in it," Chavez told them, "what you're conditioned to. To me it looks like a strong, beautiful sign of hope."

Yeah we have 2 disjointed fissures, the lava flow from the bigger one was successfully diverted away from the town by the berm defenses. The problem is the much smaller one that opened up right on the outskirts.

Do people buy lava insurance?

I'm assuming it falls under act of god. Unless the state pays you out.

It kind of does, flood insurance is almost exclusively sold by the federal government.

Acts of Loki are not covered. Other jobs are handled under standard policies.

My lawsuit against the insurance company..."magma from beneath the surface would be an act of the Devil, not God.  Now pay my claim".

Yes.

Good news is that the smaller fissure causing the above has stopped erupting.
