I haven't read the article yet, but if that's true it deserves it's own thread.
It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

I've just tried 'skyr' for the first time. It's okay, sort of like Greek yoghurt.

I know they've offered us a cure for all diseases in exchange for nothing so much as ridding of us of Godzilla and Rodan, but for some reason I don't trust them. :hmm:

I've tried it too, and to me they tasted identical. :hmm:

Monsters?  Don't be silly.  The Nazis are hiding on those planets.

I've been taking a new medication have been having memory problems I think.  Since I i've taken it I've lost a book, my hat, my glasses and my Kindle.  Today I forgot my PIN number for my debit card and Yi's father's name.

What med?  Don't say Risperdal (risperidone). :(

Nah, I don't take that one anymore.  It's a new one called Viibryd.  Risperdal really fucked me over.  70 pounds gained in three months. <_<
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

I think I am an outlier then.  But as Ide has pointed out repeatedly (and correctly) this wouldn't be the first time.  I am not middle class but I tend to shop as middle class.   - except when buying wine and my suits for work.  Then I go all out 1%.

The middle class don't spend $300/week on meat either.  ;)

I didnt say I spend like a middle class person.  Clearly I dont.  But I do go to a butcher who caters to the middle class.

I have started to up my game re: clothes recently.  Princesca recently prevented me from getting $400 dress shoes, but I'll do an end-run around her at some point. :shifty:

Speaking of shoes, I got fairly expensive dress shoes (around $600-700) recently and are the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever worn. Previously I usually went for Ecco (about $150-200 a pair) and they have always been much better. :(

MadImmortalMan

Wear them for a while. They should get more comfortable over time. I've thought about getting one of those really nice pairs from somebody like Alden but never got around to it. I have several pairs of AE and they're nice and comfy. More expensive than Ecco though.

Then again, maybe the high price tag in your case didn't actually mean higher quality.
