You know, as long as everyone agreed to communicate with me solely by email or hand-written note, I think I'd do alright in France or Quebec.

You know, one thing that's kinda easy about Quebecois French is it sounds exactly like an American with a bad accent speaking French.
Don't ruin it :weep:

I've never heard that comparison before.

We sound like what French sounded 300 years ago.

So you're saying americans really sound like old timey frenchies?

  Some Mercedes-Benz exec visiting the Alabama plant from the fatherland got his ass cuffed and brought downtown after a traffic stop since he only had his German ID card and not his passport.

Last year, he would have gotten a citation (or probably never been asked for proof of his immigration status in the first place, since he was presumably cruising around in a Merc with perfect English) and gone on his merry way, to have the cite dismissed at his convenience when he brought his passport in.

Great new law.  I hope they took the time to scrutinize his answer to the "Were you ever affiliated with the National Socialist German Workers Party between 1933 and 1945?" question on the entrance card.
And that's why treating people equally under the law is stupid.  Sure, you can bust ass on Mexicans and blacks, but if you're a white person from a civilized country, why would you ever want to immigrate to the US, legally or otherwise?
I do not hate you, nor do I love you, but you are made out of atoms which I can use for something else.

Just had the prefectural speech/recitation contest today.
My kids won nothing.
I am pissed off.
The speech guy...yeah, he wasn't the best, he only started a few weeks ago and his speech was naff and...yeah. The winner I don't think was the best either but she was OK.
The recitation contest though....the winner was absolutely fucking awful. Not only was my guy better but half of the other contestants I'd heard were better. Its just a trevesty my guy didn't even place. I'm currently really down on Japan

Hey there, Syria! What's up? It's me, CVN 77! Thought I'd ditch my buddy Stennis for a bit to see what you were up to.

That's pretty clever.  I suspect you can get a lot of information about US foreign policy intentions by watching where the carriers go.  I suppose Obama hasn't ruled out intervention in Syria.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. We sound like what English sounded like around that time as well.
