QuoteSpain: Play Card as Event
#21: 5 / Foreign Volunteers
Add 3 regulars to the map in any combination of spaces that you control (they do not need to be home spaces). Spaces may not be under siege or in unrest.

[FAQ: This card does allow Spain to add regulars to spaces in the Netherlands to Oran or to Malta and the Ottoman to add regulars to Algiers or to Djerba/Tripoli (where they normally can not construct units).]

Message from Spain:
3r in Oran

Extend with 4 CP treasure:
1/4: 1m in Gibraltar
2-3/4: Naval transport Alva+1r 1m via Barbary Coast to Oran
4/4: Alva+5r 1m to Algiers

QuoteOttoman: Play Card as Event
#15: 2 / Storms [RESPONSE]
Play during another power's impulse just after they have announced they are spending CP to move, assault, initiate piracy, conduct a naval move, or start a naval transport. 1 CP is lost. For the rest of the impulse, no land unit of that power may move more than 1 space; assault, piracy, naval moves, and naval transport are prohibited OR Force any expedition to undergo a Navigation roll.

[FAQ: Effects only last for this one impulse; may not be used to stop Treachery! event.]

Message from Ottoman:
Play as response to stop the Spanish naval transport from Gibraltar. Spanish also lose a CP.

Spain has 2 CPs remaining with their treasure play.
The medievals were only too right in taking nolo episcopari as the best reason a man could give to others for making him a bishop. Give me a king whose chief interest in life is stamps, railways, or race-horses; and who has the power to sack his Vizier (or whatever you care to call him) if he does not like the cut of his trousers.

Government is an abstract noun meaning the art and process of governing and it should be an offence to write it with a capital G or so as to refer to people.

Of course.

2 inf to Papacy.

File #20 is the original move, #21 is the following changes.

If you had tried to take Tunis, instead, I wouldn't have complained...

Play Sack! for 5 CPs

Took a colony and moved to GC, where we successfully pirated the Spanish for 2 hits.

Moved on to South Atlantic and dropped my colony.

Treasure and VP please!

Maybe Spain will build some piracy defenses now...

Well, pick a treasure.

Also, who cares about piracy defense with rolls like these (in Guinea Coast, lol).

Number 2 on the list please - but you will have to transfer it to my ownership.

Building a fortress in GC is pretty much a must-do at some point.  Remember, Drake comes next turn, and he's going to roll 3 dice there.

Want it now or can you wait until my next turn?

Well I could build some defenses if you didn't keep stealing my cards. I had to defend against that first.

Pfft. I wouldn't steal your cards if you didn't bottle up my fleet (he lied).
