Tonitrus

Caught "Executive Suite" (starring William Holden) on TMC.

Still very relevant on the problem with corporations these days...

Damn, I haven't seen that movie in years.  Shareholder value.

I noticed he used "return on investment".  :bleeding:

CountDeMoney

Bah, damn you, Ed.  Fred March makes me want to spin up Seven Days In May now.

FunkMonk

Tonitrus posted that not Ed.  :D

Thanks, T. I haven't seen Executive Suite so that will be going on my watch list.
Person. Woman. Man. Camera. TV.

CountDeMoney

Sorry, T.  My mindlink with Ed is funky today, what with the rain and all.

Ed Anger

The rain makes my leg hurt.

Spent this morning watching cartoons with the kids. Got a fucking pony song stuck in my head.

I've heard enough of that from MBAssholes to last me a while.  We must count our precious little beans.

Trailer for the new Star Trek movie. http://youtu.be/l2wigDNTDkA

Sherlock Holmes returns to Earth to detonate Starfleet forever  :hmm:

Great.  Crew of the Enterprise goes back in time to 9/11.

Sounded like the Prometheus trailer for a while there.

When the last movie involved a Space Pearl Harbor, an entire planet getting imploded, and a four thousand mile hole dug in the middle of San Francisco bay, is it really appropriate to start off the trailer for the sequel with "YOU THOUGHT YOUR WORLD WAS SAFE"?

Taken on it's own, it's a pretty good trailer, but, yeah, in context, it's less so.

The original trailer for the reboot was a great trailer.  Too bad the movie didn't live up to it.

Shareholder value über alles!

Although one of the worst phrases I once read in a corporate email was to "leverage all stakeholders [of the project] to synergize their efforts". I think they had no idea what it meant, either.
I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.

Are you suggesting that return on investment is also some management mumbojumbo bullshitspeak?

Some people can't distinguish between mumbojumbo BS and stuff that simply goes over their heads.
