Wow. That's a shame what a way to ruin a perfectly pleasant adult past time and porn category and make it all....Breitbarty.

I know I've been away for 12 years or so, and the onus is on me to catch the fuck up, but what is the big deal about calling someone a kind and sensitive person?

Seems to be a preferred insult of the alt right.  I first saw it used by Legbiter referring to Germans who favored accepting refugees.  Now has a strong association with Trump.  Possibly because of some internet personality named Milo something, an alt right British poof of Greek extraction who is connected to Breitbart.  I say possibly because I can only judge based on what Martinus reports.

As I understand it, the trajectory of the term goes like this:

The Men's Rights Activists/ Pick Up Artist/ Red Pill community used it to describe the kind of Beta males who don't act assertive around women like Alpha males (that the MRA/ PUA/ Red Pill people aspire to be). So sure, they may be all nice to women and marry them and raise children and even make lots of money, but secretly their women are fucking the assertive jerky (some would say misogynist) Alpha males.

There's a fair bit of what you might call "an exchange of ideas" between the MRA/PUA/Red Pill crowd and the alt right, and it seems the terminology transferred; as the crowd went for Trump, so did the terminology.

Oh boy, two great tastes that taste great together. <_<
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

There's porn for it and everything. So I've heard.

Yeah real cucks are apparently put out by the terms popularity.

Weird. I thought cuckolds got off on being embarrassed and ashamed.

But there are limits - even humiliation junkies are apparently put off by being associated with alt-right asshats.  :hmm:

I don't think that is actually the case.

I think the fetish is that they ARE NOT ashamed, but rather excited by it.

It is why it makes a "good" insult - it is the kind of thing that you level at someone you know it does NOT apply to, because it normally is something that men would find shameful as it is a direct attack on their ego.

I think as insults goes it is up there with "nigger" or "cunt" in its over the top nastiness. A word that someone would only use (at least non-ironically) when their intention is to simply be as unpleasant as possible in as offensive a manner as they can...

I thought the 230k was the number marti said. if marti said a higher number, then a higher number makes sense if he's worked at this firm for five-six years and he receives standard biglaw compensation. $230k is like a two/three-year biglaw associate.

American biglaw salaries are higher than European biglaw salaries. $230K would be a very high salary for any magic circle firm for a 2-3 year associate. I'm pretty sure that even the big American firms in London don't pay that much.

I'm triggered now.

Hey I am not judging if you enjoy cuckoldry. At some point you probably need to let your kids know who their real father is.

As an insult, "kind and sensitive person" is an odd one. It sorta presupposes that the worst thing ever is to be a person who knowingly puts up with marital infidelity. Yet lots of people actually do that as a fetish. Presumably, they aren't the target of the insult.

Presumably, the target is others (I assume men) who don't have the force or personality to enforce marital obedience - that is, they are weak, pushovers, submissive (this assumes that what creates marital fidelity is a man's forceful nature). What used to be insulted by terms like "effeminate" or "faggot", which likewise did not necessarily mean the target was actually homosexual, but rather was the sort of weak and ineffectual person that other men could presumably dominate and fuck (this assumes that men allow other men to fuck them out of weakness).

This is what makes the insult such a nasty reflection on the person using it - the assumptions underlying it.

I am actually really intrigued by the idea that this is a real thing. I find odd fetishes kind of fascinating.

Is it just part of the typical American puritanism that results in fascination with "wrong" expressions of sexuality? Or is there a shame/humiliation thing to it? Always, sometimes?

There are a lot of kinks out there, and plenty of them I think "That is weird, but I can understand the appeal". Then there are those that are "That is weird, and I really do not understand that at all".

This definitely falls into the latter. But apparently it is actually a real thing...?

Sometimes I wonder if fetish's like this are more a matter of people wanting it to be a thing - ie, people find kind and sensitive person porn exciting, even if there really aren't many people who are truly into the fetish itself.

Yep, I think this is right.

Which is really quite ironic that Marty would be so in love with the insult. It is nothing more than the modern version of calling someone straight a faggot, an attack on their masculinity by questioning their sexuality in the case of faggot, or their sexual ability to keep their woman happy in the case of kind and sensitive person.

It really does betray a rather horrifying level of immaturity on the part of the person using it and how they think about women.

kind and sensitive person as an insult only works if the target is himself insecure about his masculinity.  :hmm:
