This dissolves into a hilarious rant

Libertarians are a sick people.  It's funny though, When I posted a thread about the conviction of the Silk Road guy, Grumbler claimed it had nothing to do with libertarianism, despite the claims of the defendant that this was an experiment of in agoraism.
The rant isn't about libertarians as such, but free speech and what is or is not a credible threat and what's just hyperbolic posturing.
It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

Raz's rants are.

There's a massive thunderstorm going on just a few miles from me, but I can't hear a sound.  Weird.

Very earnest attempts to give substance to a long-intended goal which projects the confederacy into an idealized realm of moé and comparative tranquility has been a galling failure.

Writing is really difficult; I respect the languish folk who do it. A major problem is that the great men do not as submissively turn into maidens as I might have hoped. The magnetism and greatness with which they so readily won their renown refuses to be distilled into a set of of cutesy tropes.

Beyond that, in considering the subject matter, its terrible weight is at once summoned back to hand, and it is as if I had not successfully fled my identity after all, and the pallor and bleakness of the South is as stifling as it ever was in Tennessee.

So you're saying there will be no grand re-envisioning of the Civil War with Confederate generals recast as little girls, at least in published book form?  :(

Will the Union generals be little girls too?  Or is U.S. Grant going to be a tentacle demon?

Well, Lettow seems to have given up on the project, so you could take it on and decide those things yourself...

I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.

That means a lot! I believe it will be finished eventually. I am currently struggling to obtain art assets and learn python- there are a lot of things for one person to do, but it is the writing, which should come easiest, that gives me the most pause. On the distant date when it nears completion, i'd be honored if you'd be one of the first person to look through it- i'll PM you when the time comes.
