I'm beyond disgusted with the burgers. US security guarantees are less than worthless just as long as the aggressor makes sure to cut Uncle Sam in. Fuck them sideways.

Yep. We already guaranteed their borders in the Budapest Memorandum. So what? We are going to give them a super duper security guarantee?

Zmiinyi defenders: "Russian warship, go fuck yourself."

It's the naked Third Worldist corruption that animates everything the burgers do that gets me. The Ukrainians are damn well not going to abandon the fortress belt where they're bleeding the russians like a stuck pig on some vague promise from the US.

It's more polite than flatulence incident, that's for sure.

Quote from: Jacob on March 25, 2026, 07:05:00 PMI saw a Ukrainian video claiming preliminary indications are that 40% of Russia's oil export capacity has been eliminated.

That's a pretty big blow.

Guess no one is getting gas this summer

Don't worry, China and India will get theirs.  :P
Plus, Orban and the like will find a way, might have to be premium, though.

Zelensky is apparently in Saudi Arabia right now.

In general, I've seen news about Ukraine assisting the GCC states with drone defense especially. I haven't seen any reporting on what the upside is for Ukraine here. I have no doubt that there is one - and good for Ukraine - but what is it?

The energy crisis has been a boon for Russia.  I suspect this was part of the motivation for the strikes on the Baltic oil and gas terminals a couple days ago.  So, Ukraine has a vested interest in reducing its impact, and they can do so by helping the GCC secure the Strait of Hormuz and their oil and gas facilities.

Massive investment in Ukraine's missile & missile defense industry. Apparently their technology is good, and obviously real world tested, but they lack capital for production scale up.
Getting ready to make IEDs against American Occupation Forces.

"But I didn't vote for him"; they cried.

That seems like a perfect win-win for both parties.

The GCC nations get effective defences against Iran that does not rely on American patronage, as well as a possibly a good return on investment.

For Ukraine, they'll be able to increase production for themselves as well and gain an additional source of income.

Makes perfect sense.

I hope it works out well for Ukraine.

I don't see it leading to good things for the US or Israel in the long term.  One of the biggest benefits for Israel of its alliance with the US is the reliance of its strongest nearby neighbors on the same power.  If that's broken many previously stable relationships become unmoored.

Jacob

The US has already established that stable relationship is unmoored. This is the beginning of the drift and realignment, IMO.

I think until this latest war the GCC were happy to be aligned with the US.  That's not true anymore.  So the shift is quite recent.

There is no drift - there has already been the rupture.  And the world is now realigning as a consequence.

In several surveys, the overwhelming first choice for what makes Canada unique is multiculturalism. This, in a world collapsing into stupid, impoverishing hatreds, is the distinctly Canadian national project.
