I approve.

In the age of drone warfare, aren't star fortification a little obsolete?

But being symmetrical it's well suited to build a doom for drone protection. What's old is new again!

I am more optimistic, so I would go for a dome

In several surveys, the overwhelming first choice for what makes Canada unique is multiculturalism. This, in a world collapsing into stupid, impoverishing hatreds, is the distinctly Canadian national project.

Conservatives being conservatives, they have to be outraged at something every day of their miserable lives.

Today, it's the halftime superbowl.

I don't do meditation.  I drink alcohol to relax, like normal people.

If Microsoft Excel decided to stop working overnight, the world would practically end.

That seems like the perfect spot for a pan-European Languish meet up.

I can immediately see two 'death-marches', firstly around all of the outer defences, then inside to do another circuit of the main ramparts, followed by some symbolic walk through all four gates and then a collective collapse in a restaurant or bars in the central square.  :frog:

I walked through it on my way to Italy. You wouldn't know it looks like that from street level, but it is pretty cool to pass through the gates.

Interesting. :)

It's not too far from Colmar, with local public transportation (train station closed so bus), if you arrive from Paris or even from the Hiberno-British archipelago; or from Freiburg im Breisgau by S-Bahn to (Alt-) Breisach, if you arrive from Germany or the East, in general.

University cities and towns have not only the means to focus on sustainability, but the mindset to do so. Their downside is that they are usually quite expensive places to live.

True, housing costs tend to be quite high.
