Here they even take the floors out

That's an angle on Vienna renters paradise I hadn't heard.

Even aside from the pain on the tenants the waste is just depressing.

It does sound like there's a market for semi fitted movable kitchens. .

Cold Play concert yesterday night

CEO and CPO... Oupsie.

Rich people want an affair, but can't keep behind closed walls.
I figure some divorce lawyers are ringing their phones to advertize their services. :P

Situations like this is why god invented prenups.
Being lazy is bad; unless you still get what you want, then it's called "patience".
Hubris must be punished. Severely.

Maybe they were just good friends? Can't a married man take a woman who is not his wife to a concert and panic when pointed out by the front man of the band they came to see and not fall under suspicion? What a cruel world we live in.

Yup. Every man has a good friend who lets him fondle her breasts.  :P

So, apparently there'll be a full solar eclipse in northern Spain on the August 12th 2026.

A twice in a lifetime opportunity that is, so we're planning to take the motorhome down there and check it out.

But my Spanish is non-existent. I need some help from our resident Spaniards.

This is the route of the eclipse:

It happens in the evening, so the sun will be quite close to the horizon in WNW direction.

We need to book a camping site with a possibility to see the eclipse, preferably in the north-western part of Spain. The possibility might be a guided tour from Saragoza, Valladolid, Leon or some other city, a marvellous mountain reachable by foot in some nature preserve or whatever really.

Anyone have any inkling about what to look after? Are there some terms or special companies that might offer these tours? Some university? Some site that is well known to be perfect for the occasion?

I wouldn't know, personally, particularly for the area you're interested in. However, I keep hearing reports that many camping sites and hotels are already fully booked for that day, so you'll need to move quick.

We'll probably just drive to my aunt's place in the countryside, which is in the totality area.

In and around Asturias is fantastic - one of my favourite bits of Spain. Beautiful coast and mountains, tasty cider - it's very nice. Looks like it'll go over somewhere like Luarca or that sort of area and not far from the Picos de Europa national park.

Not camped or anything round there but it's a very nice area.
Let's bomb Russia!

Spain for the eclipse does sound like a decent idea. Though figures it's fully booked already.

A woman who doesn't let me do that is no friend of mine.

... Yes. I have no friends.

Not a Spaniard, but elementary astrophysics and geography tells me that somewhere along the coast (and definitely not where mountains are to the WNW) would be ideal.

Yeah, but the coast is already booked up and it's in a northerly direction.

Thanks guys, I guess we'll just have to book some kind of accommodation in the general area and hope for the best and that we'll be able to wing it when we're there.

Leon seems to be a good location, flat countryside and some good camping locations.

Threviel

Another question, is it ok in Spain to walk around in nature, say we find a nice hill, is it ok to climb it?

Maladict

I've booked a place in Zaragoza with what looks to be a rooftop terrace. We'll see.

The things with the northern coast is you might get clouds later in the day.
