Even after all these years hockey in June feels weird.

The playoffs seemed to be a lot more compressed in "my day". Less wait time between games. I think there wasn't any off days between the two home games. Now they go on forever.

Back to back with 1 travel day for the first 4 games, for example.

Back to back isn't realistic, most teams are really banged up as it is. Not sure how much more the bodies can take without rest. But the long break before finals doesn't make much sense.

As much as I enjoy heaping scorn on younger generations, in this case it is difficult to blame the kids for a decision made in the late 70s, early 80s.
