In the old days, sure. Not so much anymore.

I figure they're just better at not broadcasting the fact anymore.
Being lazy is bad; unless you still get what you want, then it's called "patience".

Nah man. The brand of scientology is just too toxic now.

But in any case, nothing not broadcasting about Battlefield Earth.

Produced by none other than Berry Gordy (it's better than The Wiz at least...)
In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace—and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock

QuoteSince 1984, the Criterion Collection has been dedicated to publishing important classic and contemporary films from around the world in editions that offer the highest technical quality and award-winning, original supplements. No matter the medium—from laserdisc to DVD, Blu-ray, 4K Ultra HD to streaming—Criterion has maintained its pioneering commitment to presenting each film as its maker would want it seen, in state-of-the-art restorations with special features designed to encourage repeated watching and deepen the viewer's appreciation of the art of film.

But then Criterion also released Armaggedon, in the early DVD era (not anamorphically enhanced  :ultra: ). Probably to pay for other, more challenging, releases.

As for me, The Last Dragon is way more fun and funnier.  :P
4K / UHD treatment but by Sony, so probably a better transfer than Criterion.  :P

Watched 'The Hunger Games' for the first time; OK teen adventure, but then I'm not the intended audience, but refreshing for it's lack of OTT violence.

I didn't know Criterion released The Wiz; I did know they had done Armageddon.  It's been a very long time since I've seen it; but I just remember The Wiz being dull (which is surprising, since it's a musical which stars a 20 year old Michael Jackson.)

To be precise, no yet but on June 10th.
There is also Sorcerer and Brazil, however...

The best thing about that movie was the Pitch Meeting it inspired:
The future is all around us, waiting, in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain.   -G'Kar

It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.
