The pride parade one is kind of funny

I guess it is if you read it as pride parade.
I took it as their typical nonsense of this stuff being normal.

Well, my sister posted it at the start of Pride Month, so take your pick.

Stone Toss is a Nazi.  He got outed earlier this year.  If you post his real name on Twitter Elon Musk will ban you.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

What, nazis can't have a sense of humour? That's a mighty bigoted view.

The thought never crossed my mind that that cartoon was supposed to be humorous.
The future is all around us, waiting, in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain.   -G'Kar

The Minsky Moment

Quote from: Jacob on June 04, 2024, 11:12:52 PMAn article about Syt's sister: https://techcrunch.com/2024/05/30/misinformation-works-and-a-handful-of-social-supersharers-sent-80-of-it-in-2020/

Correction, that would be Mrs. Alito.

Sam is not capable of being a supersharer as apparently whenever he is not sitting on the bench, he is blind, deaf, and incapable of expressing any ideas other than obscure details of Virgina property law.
The purpose of studying economics is not to acquire a set of ready-made answers to economic questions, but to learn how to avoid being deceived by economists.

The Minsky Moment

Sadly the article mischaracterizes the study.

The article claims that "In the second study published Thursday, a multi-university group reached the rather shocking conclusion that 2,107 registered U.S. voters accounted for spreading 80% of the "fake news" (which term they adopt) during the 2020 election."

That would be shocking if true, but it isn't

What the linked study actually says is that a review of a panel of 664,391 registered US voters who were active on Twitter during the 2020 US presidential election, revealed that 80% of the fake news was spread by the 2,107 super sharers.  Obviously, there are far more registered voters in the US that the 664,391 in the panel, and thus just as obviously the number of super sharers is much higher. Assuming the sample is representative, and assuming the Census Bureau figure if 168 million registered voters in 2020, the actual estimate of total super sharers would be over 500,000

The Minsky Moment

"a small group of committed "supersharers," predominately older Republican women, were responsible for the vast majority of the "fake news" in the period looked at."

Also can't conclude that from the study, even assuming the panel was representative. The panel consists only of registered US voters so any fake news spread by foreign sources or non-registered voters in the US would not be captured.

Maybe if we keep electing Democrats and the AfD wins in Germany, they will move back.

Obama had turned us into a racist socialist dictatorship which then evaporated six seconds after their guy was sworn in. He didn't even have to pass any new laws.
