Baseball has super simple rules. Not sure what's confusing him?

I mean if you want to get into the math and stats of it fine, that can get tedious.

When something counts as a strike and when it doesn't. Seems heavily based on did the guy flinch rather than was it actually on target.

I won't try to explain Baseball to Squeeze then.

My son went 1/3 last night & did an amazing defensive play when he was playing 2nd base.

keep the details coming!  You are bringing back very fond memories for me.  :)

  That doesn't track at all...

There is something called the "strike zone".  There's an imaginary box above home plate that extends from the batters knees to the bottom of his armpit.  If the pitch at any point crosses through that imaginary box it will count as a strike.  If it doesn't cross through that strike zone, say for being too close to the batter or too far from the batter such that it doesn't cross over home plate, it will not be a strike but will be a ball.

I don't think the game is as easy to understand as HVC says (and certainly despite RH's best efforts I don't understand cricket beyond the most basic level), but I don't think balls and strikes are too hard to understand.

after 9-10 months I thought my oldest son would be happy for hockey to be over, but no he's just sad about it.

It was his birthday last night.  Do you know what we're doing for his birthday?  Yup - renting a sheet of ice so he and his buddies can play some hockey.

The target is fairly big, also a lot of strikes occur when a batter swings and misses or hits a foul ball.  A called strike - when a batter doesn't swing but the ball is in the strike zone often happens with the batter just watching the ball sail through - he didn't swing because he thought it would be a ball or it was thrown so fast he had no chance to get it.

I'll try to remember.

It was only his first game this year. It was quite the improvement from last year on the batting side.
His category uses a catapult to throw the ball and last year he connected only 3 times over 100 plate appearance(no hits). Last night, he connected twice in 3 appearance (got thrown out at 1st and single along the 3rd base line).

Sailing?

My dad was a sailor in the merchant navy and I've been on a ferry

I thought I recalled a photo of you at one point on a sail boat.

I'm not opposed to the idea but no - I've been on boats on holiday but it's more you pay €20 and the guy'll take you to a beach down the coast with a cooler full of radlers :P

And, in fairness, I will take any opportunity for a boat trip on holiday whether for actual transport or just part of a day out. A bit like I will always go on a funicular if one is available

Yeah from what I understand her abuse allegations were defamatory with actual malice, but Depp's lawyer defamed her when he said she was an "abuse hoaxer".

I'm not fully sure how those two sit together.

Jury awarded 15 million. 5 in punitive, but there's a 350k cap for punitive damages.

Also, wouldn't the lawyer be liable for the 2 million slander, and not depp?
