Sheilbh

It is a little arthousey too.

No toppings. Small mixed popcorn. Simple :goodboy:
Let's bomb Russia!

HVC

How disappointingly plebeian of you :( :P
Being lazy is bad; unless you still get what you want, then it's called "patience".
Hubris must be punished. Severely.

The Brain

The King's Man. Pacifist fights against war. I really enjoyed this movie. Has Ralph Fiennes, moves along nicely, cool characters and environments, Battlefield 1: The Movie... I also liked the way it treats historical events*, "paying tribute" to real history if you will.

SPOILER:

*I totally understand making Lenin involved in the overthrow of the Tsar, for simplicity and for making use of a well-known historical figure, but I would have avoided that solution since it's a destructive myth that's still widely believed in the West. You could argue something similar about letting Serbia off the hook for Franz Ferdinand, but I don't think anyone believes that the evil cabal behind the murder was the collection of villains presented in the movie, so I think that's a bit different.

'La Belle Epoque' - entertaining romantic comedy, worth a viewing.

No the recent, 2019? French one, should I consider seeing the Spanish one as well?

But don't see how it can be made to work as a TV show. It's one of those pulp classics where characters are just props that pop up where necessary to move to the plot.

It would be a very distant choice of large scale science fiction to portray in a movie. I always thought it was unfilmable, and I'm still more or less of that opinion...

Speaking of which, what big scale science fiction would you folks like to see made into a movie, if you had your choice?

My own preference would be for *A Fire Upon the Deep*. Lots of ideas, but a very cinematic plot (a ship of misfits race against time against a horde of enemies to  rescue some kids who happen to be sitting on a countermeasure to a cosmic evil).

'THe Helliconia trilogy' by Brian Aldiss, all of it or any one part.

I enjoyed it.

The Spanish one is awesome and full of hotties and charm.

Duque de Bragança

This one is foremost for the Brain but others such as Viper  :P may be interested.

Rocky IV: Rocky vs. Drago (2021)

Not a revisionist take à la George Lucas, no SFX redone digitally for worse or Han Solo shots nonsense, but it's true the obnoxious robot disappears.
Bit more of Rocky III in it, as well of Apollo Creed.
Seems less reaganian/caricatural than the theatrical cut (somewhat more subtle as in less obvious) with at least an "iconic" shot removed.
Some lines were removed (too cheesy), includind one of Mrs Drago/Gitte Nielsen.
Rest assured the flashbacks are still there, somewhat different and of course, the montages ! Less videoclip edit feel for the movie however (longer duration).
Dolph/Drago has twice more lines ! Character a bit more developed, Creed 2 influence obviously.

Around two hours this time vs 91 min, with more or less 45 min of new footage (previously edited out not a recent reshoot).
Movie was totally remastered for a 4K DCP screening (Dolby Vision enhanced) so is a prime candidate for an UHD re-release.

No spoiler tags working so I can't be specific. If you liked the original, even as a guilty pleasure/so bad it's good it's worth a watch.
The others can try as well, unless they really hate everything Rocky.

For once, I think this cut is better but I would still keep the cinema cut (à la Close Encounters of the Third Kind but there are three there  :P ).

Curious to watch the making of of this new cut. Some mean-spirited people say it's more interesting than the movie itself. :D

Didn't hear about this :)

EDIT: In theaters only for now, I get it. :)
I don't do meditation.  I drink alcohol to relax, like normal people.

I saw the new cut at a limited cinema screening in a commercial but somewhat alternative cinema venue in the Champs-Élysées (popcorn available for Sheilbh just in case) so either you have or had limited screenings around you or it's VoD for the time being.

I would not be surprised if it gets a physical release though, only DVD would be disappointing however.
