Title: Mancow gets waterboarded, lasts 6 seconds, and says waterboarding is torture
Post by: Drakken on May 25, 2009, 12:50:24 PM
Seeing Languishers ignore such a gem makes baby Jesus cry, so how can I stop myself from provoking more chaos and bickering by open a thread on it?  :P

Story short, Chicago's Big 89, WLS-AM Mancow & Cassidy show's right-nujob shockjock Mancow Muller accepted to sustain waterboarding to prove it wasn't torture. Well, he lasted six seconds before throwing the towel (or in this case, the plastic cow toy) and declared that it was undeniably torture.

And for the pleasure of all, it was put on Youtube.  :D

Well that's silly.  I thought it had been established that waterboarding is effective, and thus torture, and that the only people who care are enemies of the West.

what we really need at this point in this debate, is for Languishites to undergo waterboarding themselves. as an incentive, they can then inflict wbing on the poster of their choice.

I expect dozens of recruits.

You want to try some real fun?
Do the same thing, except instead of water, use Coca-Cola.  Not only is the feeling of drowning included, but for an added bonus the carbonation burns like a fucker.

Because Mexican Federales have done it to Americans for decades.  Drug dealers, stupid college kids, you name it.

Where's the thread on that, you softie ass Euroweenie fucksticks?

Why would there be a thread on that?  It's been decisively proven that people who oppose waterboarding hate the West, not torture.  Thus, they don't care when someone tortures Westerners.

The Bolsheviks used to make prisoners drink tons of Ginger Beer and then cover their nose and mouth.  IIRC, it that could actually be lethal, you'd come close to bursting.

That wasn't "yelling," that was simply pointing out what a moronic statement you were making.

Sure, NPR is "a bunch of liberal hippies" compared to Rush Limbaugh and the bulk of "talk radio" (which is really "preach radio," by and large) but that is only because NPR presents both sides of an issue (indeed, onthe radio it seems to be "hippy" to even admit that there are two sides to issues)..

What is interesting is that iirc Hitchens lasted longer than Mancow, and was still so embarrassed that he didn't last longer he had them waterboard him again to see if he could get a better time. Maybe that shows Hitchens has some intellectual honesty, or maybe Mancow is just a pansy.

Hitchens tells that story, but it means nothing.  Mullier wasn't trying to hold out, he was trying to show that the actual effect of waterboarding, when you inhale, isn't torture.  So this is apples and oranges.
QuoteMaybe that shows Hitchens has some intellectual honesty, or maybe Mancow is just a pansy.
  Talk about leaping to delusions!  This shows nothing about "intellectual honesty" nor who is a "pansy."  It shows that two people with diametrically opposing reasons for undergoing waterboarding agree that it is torture.  If it were to show anyone having "intellectual honesty," that would be Muller, who actually changed his mind based on the evidence.

You are forgetting that the torture hierarchy is defined by how long you can endure the torture. So, for example,

Chinese Water Torture < waterboarding < disembowlment.

You can read all about it here: www.tortureexplainer.com.
