The rain here has turned to snow. The predictions were that, should that happen, we may get up to 4" of snow.
I don't think I've had snow here in October before. In fact, I haven't given my lawn its final haircut yet.
I am sure that the radio morons will be baying about how this disproves global warming!
Just rain down here. Seems like even in NoVA its a bit warm for snow - is it sticking?
I was going to go to a drive-in theater with some friends today, but the snow cancelled it.
Not sure exactly what we're gonna do now, but I'd like to do something with them before I leave for China.
It was below freezing this morning now but it's sunny and in the 50s now... which is still unusually cold for us this time of year.
Snowing here too, I just see a wall of white where the view of Manhattan usually is. Doesn't seem to be snowing hard enough to leave much accumulation, though.
We got a sprinkling Thursday night, and ice Friday morning. Tonight we are due for 6-12 inches and a bit more in the morning. Messy. Shame its a weekend.

It was sticking for a bit on the grass, but not on pavement. It has stopped snowing and warmed up to above freezing, so we are done for the moment, I think. Just rain from here on out, until tonight.
First snow of the year? We had plenty in January-March in Sweden.
No snow yet, but lots of morning frost the last two days.
No snow yet.
You know it's actually around this time of year where I'm convinced there must be something to this 'global warming' thing. As a kid there was ALWAYS snow on the ground for Hallowe'en, but that hasn't been the case for many years now.
I went to a store looking for a vest earlier and the two supermarkets in the plaza were packed with frenzied shoppers. You'd think it were hell on earth. Even a foot of snow will have melted off by late tomorrow.
No snow here, but the temperature is forcast to be down near freezing tonight. If it hits the freezing point, it'll be the first time this fall.
Haven't really lived here long enough to say from experience how normal this is, but according to Yahoo!Weather, the average daily low for October here is 51F.

Narco-trafficante.
Just came back down from NoVA. The ice on the bridges is absolutely terrible up there, even on the major roads. Normally I take Rt. 123 south to I-95, but the police had closed off the entire bridge over Fairfax County Parkway. The short bridge right before that was covered in black ice, but fortunately it was short enough that I didn't slide out of control. Saw a few cars in ditches though.
Ended up going north to I-66, then taking that to 495 then 95 South. The highways were clear and salted, as I figured that would be. Braddock and 50 east were reportedly pretty bad.
Apparently there's lots of people without power in Pennsylvania, too. Lots of snow and ice on trees that still have all their fall leaves, causing them to fall onto powerlines and roads.
No snow yet but such chills as I've never felt.
Been a warm fall here. Most of the leaves are on the trees still. I've noticed this happening more and more as the years go by. When I was a kid the leaves were off the trees a week before Halloween. Also there are armadillos here now. I know those didn't live in the area twenty years ago. Al Gore was right.

Eastern Massachusetts. I got about 2 or 3 inches of snow, not enough to shovel, and by afternoon on the driveway it's melted. My brother is about 15 miles inland of me and he got six inches of snow, enough to use his snowblower on. But he's lost power for about 12 hours now, and without electric start on the snowblower the thing won't start on the pull cord. Just like mine has trouble with when the engine is cold. No power outgages for me, thankfully.

We've had a return of coyotes here for some years now, probably over twenty now, long time. I saw coyote tracks in my backyard in the snow; pretty sure they were, as the prints all follow in a straight line. I don't think dog prints follow each other. I've seen those tracks before though, and seen coyotes. And this is a heavily populated area just southwest of Boston.

Where they native to New England? I thought they were just moving in and filling the void left by the eradication of wolves.
I don't know if the coyotes were native to New England at one time; I don't think so. I think many of them migrated from western US areas over time, and in the last 20-30 years seem to have become a lot more plentiful.
Damn mess. I was out Saturday night and I could hear the snap and crack of trees falling down. Haven't had power since some time around Saturday too. Didn't get much snow, but I wonder if we had gotten the foot of snow instead of the two inches of ice if things wouldn't have gone btter.

No real snow here. jsut a few dusting since winter started. We jsut entered a severe cold warning for the next few days though.
We are still waiting for a true first snow of the year (we had maybe two days in December when it snowed for an hour or so but was gone by the end of the day).
This is most unusual - normally, in Poland you could get snow as early as Halloween. Anyone who thinks the global warming is not happening is delusional.

Finally got some cold weather here in Eastern Mass, near Boston. But it's been a damn warm early winter so far. That's ok though, no snow yet. Last year we had huge amounts of snow. So much that I liked to call it glaciers. Still two months left plus March, plenty of time to get some heavy snow amounts. But this week seems clear of snow according to weather reports.

We got about 6 inches of snow. I just finished clearing the drivewy. Used my snowblower, which I've had trouble starting. But I ran it last weekend, tweaked the carb fuel air settings, and it seemed to run better then. Then today it stared right up and ran well! It's an old Ariens, at least 30 years old I'd say. We got it about 20 years ago at least, and it was used then. These are built to last so I'm hoping to keep it and not buy a new one. See if it lasts a few more years.
