Title: 10,000 Free Round-Trip Tickets to Japan
Post by: garbon on October 11, 2011, 07:15:36 PM
http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/abc-blogs/10-000-free-round-trip-tickets-japan-134142507.html

QuoteIf you've ever wanted to visit Japan, this may be your chance.

In a desperate attempt to lure tourists back to a country plagued by radiation fears and constant earthquakes, the Japan Tourism Agency's proposed an unprecedented campaign – 10,000 free roundtrip tickets.

The catch is, you need to publicize your trip on blogs and social media sites.

The number of foreign visitors to Japan has dropped drastically, since a catastrophic earthquake and tsunami triggered a nuclear disaster at the Fukushima Dai-ichi Power plant in March. Nearly 20,000 people have been confirmed dead, while more than 80,000 remain displaced because of radiation concerns. In the first three months following the triple disasters, the number of foreign visitors to Japan was cut in half, compared with the same time in 2010. The strong Japanese currency has made matters worse.

The tourism agency says it plans to open a website to solicit applicants interested in the free tickets. Would- be visitors will have to detail in writing their travel plans in Japan, and explain what they hope to get out of the trip. Successful applicants would pay for their own accommodation and meals. They would also be required to write a review their travel experiences, and post it online.

"We are hoping to get highly influential blogger-types, and others who can spread the word that Japan is a safe place to visit," said Kazuyoshi Sato, with the agency.

The agency has requested more than a billion yen to pay for the tourism blitz. If lawmakers approve the funding, Sato says visitors could begin signing up as early as next April.

I'd sign up in a heartbeat.  The only problem would be coordinating a timeframe.

Damn, why did I have to burn all my PTO this year?  I'm sure Chernobyl built up my immunity to radiation anyway.  Does Languish count as a social media?

Last sentence - you wouldn't be able to sign up until at least next April.

Also based on your car accident thread here, I think you might want to use that time brushing up on acquiring rudimentary story telling skills. The point isn't to lull your readers to sleep.

You misunderstand the beneficence of Japan. They are delighted to have Gaijin about- we are a strange delight, adding colour and vibrance to life like an eager child, who is naturally excused for his brash outbursts because he does not understand proper societal restraint.

It is only when the foreigner presumes to stay in Japan for any but the most transient periods that he exercises their ire.

The Japanese love the West almost as much as they love Japan. Intrusion upon their crystal fortress is permitted, provided you do not attempt to sing the crystals into an alignment contrary to its indigenous constellation.

Bukkake is at its most arousing if all parties involved are ashamed. There is something magnificent in each man struggling between his sense of propriety and his own desire- he gives in for the moment, knowing he will be unable to face his fellows or speak of the event afterwards, and that he will instantly regret it. Passion overcomes shame but it is an illusory victory that fades away the moment after climax.

As for the woman, she is the centrepiece of shame; she must derive no pleasure in it at all, but rather, her innocence is an offering before the men, debasing her decency for the sake of a multitude's momentary pleasure. Docile but with an affected indifference, She must show resolve and fortitude of spirit during it, but ideally she should cry once the men are out of sight. A woman who takes pleasure in the experience, or indeed men who are not mortified by their own behaviour afterwords, is obscene.

This I feel is the best way forward with bukkake.

I would have used 'provoke' in place of 'exercises' there.  That's the way the word works.  If I tell Ide that yellow fever is the first step towards being gay, I'm not exercising him, I'm provoking him.

I also think 'delight' is overstating matters quite a bit there.

It could be that you are right. I was thinking of exercises' definitions as:
a.To absorb the attentions of, especially by worry or anxiety.
b. To stir to anger or alarm; upset:

I think it fits the phrase better than provoke, but either could have worked.

But if you are watching porn in japan then you have to either watch soft porn or bukkake. Bukkake is the most explicit live action porn you can get legally in Japan.

Quote from: wikiAccording to one commentator, a significant factor in the development of bukkake as a pornographic form was the mandatory censorship in Japan where genitals must be pixelated by a "mosaic".[12] One consequence of this is that Japanese pornography tends to focus more on the face and body of actresses rather than on their genitals.[12] Since film producers could not show penetration, they sought other ways to depict sex acts without violating Japanese law and since semen did not need to be censored, a loophole existed for harder sex scenes.

I refuse to take the accusation of strangeness for drawing attention to the central role shame must play in Japanese sexuality. If y'all don't agree, you have merely misunderstood Japan.

Agreeing or disagreeing with Japan on this matter is a matter of taste, but it wouldn't do to not acknowledge the facts on the ground.

Hetrosexuals - people who want sexual experiences with the opposite sex

I will reiterate that you have not understood Japan. The moon runes have not whispered to you, and you look across a great gulf, unable to see past your prejudices and misconceptions. The shame is central, beautiful, and unnegotiable.

My own tastes don't come into this; I desire sexual experiences with an anemic blind girl who has a motherly air, a love of tea, seldom stirred to great peaks of emotion, and free of the vanities and ambitions of the defiled world.

It was implicit in reading into my statements about a Japanese practice anything about myself. If what I said was deemed strange, that has to do with the reader who does not understand Japan- I have not miscommunicated the idea, nor let my own beliefs leak into the matter.

Shame plays a role in all elements of Japanese culture, as they are a society based on shame.  It's part of what holds them back.

Shame is the essence of civilization! Man was elevated from the beasts when he saw his own nudity and was ashamed. Consider the difference between the english gentleman and the negro; the largest gulf is one of shame. Even within England itself, consider the difference between the prim aristocrat and the streetsweep, he of the blackened teeth and unreserved disposition. Shame holds back but also raises us to new heights.

I can't sing shame's praises enough. The woman without shame is repulsive; the man without shame is very nearly as bad. The struggle with shame is the most intriguing internal struggle, and those without it are simpler beasts who lack the subtlety of those who must contend with a complicated series of rules that determine what is acceptable and when.

It's a hoax that ABC posted an article that Japan hasn't decided on the details yet - which it says in the post?

Potentially misleading, sure - but hoax seems a bit strong.

Fenders are on the side surrounding the wheels, bumpers are on the front and back.

I didn't say STAR in one.  I'm content with a walk-on part.

OK Mart.

Martinus wouldn't be content with any role that didn't have an Andy Warhol-length take of his face while he slowly devolved into Andy Rooney but with fewer important things to say.

A hoax is a malicious trick.

That's not what happened here. The media got wind of a program under consideration and reported it as a done deal.

We also already had this discussion when Viking made the same claim.  Although if anyone bothered to read what was said - that "article" (blog post?) states that the agency was asking for it and did not yet have approval...

Probably a good thing.

A 10,000-man bukkake stunt would be a bit much, even for Japan.

It's only twenty per.  Chill out.

I'm thinking it'd probably be best to undertake it in some sort of dry aqueduct.  I've seen them get permits for rooftop shoots, but that might be hard to wrangle.

Some years ago when I was checking out Lava life there was an add from a woman who - apparently - was looking for volunteers for a bukkake movie. Allegedly it was a birthday present for herself, or maybe her boyfriend. Not sure. You could wear a mask if you wanted.

I assume it was a low budget porn movie looking for volunteer talent.

Point is... you can probably get cast for a bukkake movie without going to Japan.

I guess the question is - if you have to agree to perform in a 10,000 man bukkake extravaganza to get your ticket to Japan, is it really a "free" ticket?  :hmm:
