Title: The Fame Monstress Strikes Again
Post by: Grallon on March 03, 2010, 10:34:17 PM
One of the new Lady Gaga song - Alejandro - absolutely fantastic!

If she doesn't burn herself out  - she'll be bigger than Madonna that's written!

EDIT: For some reason you can't seem to be able to link directly anymore so just copy the whole line and voilà!

EDIT2: I blame fucking Vevo!

Heretic!  Affront to Nature!  Gaga is a phenomenon!  A star made out of her own willpower!  In less than a year she went from being nothing to being everything!

For that alone she deserves praises  But she's a real artist - not just the product of a media brain fart.

Garbon my lad - the beat alone is  worth any ticket...

QuoteI know that we are young,
And I know that you may love me,
But I just can't be with you like this anymore,
Alejandro

She's got both hands
In her pocket
And she wont look at you
Won't look you at
She hides through love
En su bolsillo
She got a halo around her finger
Around you

You know that I love you boy
Hot like Mexico, rejoice
At this point I gotta choose
Nothing to loose

Don't call my name
Don't call my name, Alejandro
I'm not your babe
I'm not your babe, Fernando

Don't wanna kiss, don't wanna touch
Just smoke one cigarette and run
Don't call my name
Don't call my name, Roberto

(Alejandro
Alejandro
Ale-ale-jandro
Ale-ale-jandro) x2

(Just stop
Please, Just let me go Alejandro, Just let me go)

She's not broken
She's just a baby
But her boyfriend's like a dad, just like a dad
Draw those flames that burn before him
Now he's gonna find a fight, gonna fool the bad

You know that I love you boy
Hot like Mexico, rejoice
At this point I gotta choose
Nothing loose

Don't call my name
Don't call my name, Alejandro
I'm not your babe

Dont bother me,
Dont bother me, Alejandro
Dont call my name,
Dont call my name, Bye Fernando
I'm not you're babe,
I'm not you're babe, Alejandro
Don't wanna kiss, don't wanna touch,

Dont call my name,

I don't buy music - and I don't listen to music either (as in having an IPod).  I think I still have an old SONY walkman stashed in a box somewhere... that's just to illustrate how little I listen to music.  Except when I'm drunk and watching Youtube.  Hence why I found that song last night.

I found her Swedish in the videoclip of Paparazzi deridedly funny.  :lol:

I wish she had said "bork bork bork". I would have fallen in love with her on the spot.

Seriously, though, out of the many carbon copies of female singing divas we had to stoicly bare through these last few years, she is the least painful and the most deserving of respect to date.

Agree.  She understands perfectly what it means to be an entertainer.  I think her music is meh, but I love her act.  When it comes to entertainment and getting her name out there, she is right up with the all-time best of them.

I'm afraid she might burn out since I understand she consumes heavily.  She even sing a song about it (So happy I could die) - where she says how she enjoys being high but that it frightens her if she couldn't stop.  And I saw several interviews where she 'seemed' junked out (slow locution, eyes glazed out, etc).  I hear also she's a workaholic and a control freak so... there's only so much you can accomplish without pettering out.  Look at Britney Spears turned hooligan and alcoholic.

But I agree totally with you: she's the freshest and most entertaining thing to hit the media in a long time.

I have some optimism about her future for a few reasons.  Unlike Britney, she really built her own persona in the NY club scene (and hopefully got over the taste for excess), and wasn't imposed upon from an early age to be a star.  I also think that some of her interview manner is an attempt to distance herself and remain "otherworldly" in a way, rather than actually being strung out on drugs... kind of like David Bowie in his old interviews.

Not that you're old enough to remember, but this is exactly what was said about Madonna when she came on the scene. Sheer gumption and industry savvy has kept her in the upper echelon for three decades. Only time will tell if Lady Gaga is able to make the same kind of changes that Madonna did in order to be more than a here-and-now phenom.

Overall, I like her performances. The music isn't my taste, but she's fun to watch.

She's very good for a club.  Gay musical taste oscillates wildly from beat heavy club music to torch songs.
Plus any singer that seems to embrace their gay fans will get endless, undying love no matter what shit they put out (see: Cher).

Glad you enjoyed it.  The more I watch it the more fantastic I find it.  Gaga and Tarentino have more than a few things in common it seems.  They say that when she discussed this project with him he told her she 'had to' use the pussy wagon from Kill Bill - so she woved it into the clip - and brilliantly.  There are so many winks and nods to so many things (check out the references to Dune, Doom and Star Wars here: http://www.buzzfeed.com/mjs538/10-hidden-surprises-in-lady-gagas-telephone-vid (http://www.buzzfeed.com/mjs538/10-hidden-surprises-in-lady-gagas-telephone-vid) ).

Hmm she almost collapsed during her performance of 'Bad Romance' in Auckland New Zealand last saturday.  You can watch it here: http://news.ninemsn.com.au/entertainment/1027804/lady-gaga-collapses-on-nz-stage (http://news.ninemsn.com.au/entertainment/1027804/lady-gaga-collapses-on-nz-stage).  She looks positively junked out of her mind.

For that alone she deserves praises  But she's a real artist - not just the product of a media brain fart.
People said that about MC Hammer.

Nobody said any such thing about MC Hammer.

The thing that amused me about MC Hammer is basically every one of his songs had one of these themes:

* MC Hammer is awesome
* MC Hammer is great
* MC Hammer kicks ass
* MC Hammer is amazing
* MC Hammer rules
* MC Hammer is the shiznit

That's why his total loserdom now is so delicious.

:D  Don't worry (hot) little brother, I'm strong enough to bear the burden of Gaga worship for the both of us.

I'm in love with the media phenomenon what can I say!  :wub:

It was Gaga's birthday last sunday and a fan made this video edited to contain over a hundred clips sent by other fans - it's sweet.  Apparently Gaga saw it and tweeted she had never been this moved and was crying rivers over it.  Must be a vindication for her :wub:

:lol:

I find it funny that she's half naked half the time yet no guy is gaga over.
