Think of it this way, Valmy: The pain the Foreskins Faithful have to suffer under Snyder just got transferred to the national level under Trump.
Surprised the Seahwaks have gotten the most love for a NFC team. They're kind of banged up this year aren't they, and the defense isn't what it once was.
The Packers, Giants and Cowboys are all more likely than them in my opinion.
Well, I guess it's going to be the Lions or the Falcons out of the NFC, 'cause Tim just tainted everyone else.
Fucking Hawks. You mutt.
Whatever Brady's nutritionist is feeding him must contain some sort of Taint repellent. Eventually that stuff has to wear off, right?

I actually think I'm going to let the hate flow full force and root for a Patriots win with Brady as MVP. I want to see Goodell have to hand the trophy to Brady. Hilarity and shame ensue!
Broncos made what I think was a smart hire yesterday. From what I observed for a couple seasons, Vance Joseph was an absolute defensive genius. On multiple occasions I heard him tell his defensive backs exactly what the other team's offense would throw at them the next series. Very even tempered guy and he knows how to communicate with each of his players. Hopefully all his skills translate well up into the head coach level.
One possible area of concern that may work against him as HC: he may be too nice of a guy :P
I wonder how many more times we have to see the Rex Ryan Show.
Dunno; I just hope he keeps getting tattoos for each team he coaches.

The Rams averaged only filled their stadium to 89.8% capacity! That's 28th in the league!
If the motherfucking Rams can't do better than that in their first year back to LA after being gone for 20 years, what the hell makes the Chargers think they'll have any success?

It is an incredibly stupid move by the Chargers. Their new home in LA is a 27,000 seat Soccer Stadium  I mean how lame is that? When was the last time a NFL team had a home attendance average under 30,000?

Hmm... the numbers on the ESPN site are wonky, it's only counting one game for the Rams.
However, this shows that the Rams were pulling in weak numbers all season.
http://theramswire.usatoday.com/2016/12/06/los-angeles-rams-home-attendance-memorial-coliseum-san-diego-chargers/
This has the total numbers for 2016, 665,318 for 2nd in the league in total attendance and an average of 83,164 per game. However their stadium has a capacity of 93,607. That's 88.8% capacity. LA has 4 million people in the city limits and 13 million in the metro area. They should fill it every single game.

QuoteWho will Bill Belichick try to take away from Steelers offense?
Posted by Mike Florio on January 16, 2017, 4:37 PM EST
When it comes to devising a defensive game plan, Patriots coach Bill Belichick has a simple approach: Take away what the opposing offense does best. So what will he try to take away from the Steelers on Sunday?
Putting the clamps on running back Le'Veon Bell could open up a passing game that features quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and receiver Antonio Brown. Taking away the passing game means Bell could run wild.
One of Belichick's best game plans came when he served as the defensive coordinator of the Giants in Super Bowl XXV. He persuaded the New York defense to buy in to an approach that invited Bills Hall of Fame running back Thurman Thomas to run the ball, allowing Thomas to have a big day on the ground but slowing down the quick-strike K-Gun offense. Fifteen years ago, when facing the Greatest Show on Turf in Super Bowl XXXVI, Belichick focused on taking away the passing game, dropping extra players into coverage and daring coach Mike Martz to run the ball. Martz, too stubborn to deviate from what we wanted to do, refused to adjust.
So what will Belichick do against the Steelers and Bell? Sunday night's 170-yard output from Bell resulted in zero touchdowns for the team, so maybe Belichick should be willing to let Bell get his yards with a bend-don't-break effort to avoid big plays and easy scores in the passing game.

Consider that Timmy's taint was powerful enough to take down the entire political system of the United States of America, but still too weak to take down Belichick. And this time around there is no 3rd string Giants receiver to counteract the Patriot voodoo.
I don't get too worked up about the Patriots but I'd really like to see Atlanta win.

It was evil vs. evil. I just have more of an axe to grind with the Steelers than with the Patriots.
Obviously I'm with the moral majority that want the Patriots to lose in the Super Bowl.
I'm really torn on this super bowl. On the one hand, I've lived most my life in Atlanta and have some pride in the city. I also hate New England, Bill Belichick, Tom Brady, their cheating ways, and most of all their Timmay fan base. But on the other hand, I hate the fact that I now see a bunch of people wearing Falcons gear for the first time in forever, greeting each other with "rise up", and generally being happy about the team's success.

I'll be satisfied no matter who wins at this point. The Steelers have been eliminated, so their annoying fanbase can melt back into the woodwork. The Falcons could win their first ever, which would be nice. The Patriots? Well, if they win and (presumably) Brady gets MVP, having to watch Goodell squirm and hand over the trophies will be worth the cost of New England winning again. I have a lot more hate for Gooddell and his actions throughout the NFL than what I have just for New England.
No zone read team in the big show. That's a win. :)
The Pats need to win. Darth Goodell handing the trophy to a pissed off to Sith Lord Kraft, Brady & Hoodieman is too good to pass up.

I'm glad that Atlanta is playing such an unlikable team, because the level of front running in this city is repulsive. So many people I've never seen with any interest in football are sporting falcons t shirts that look to be brand new and greeting me with "rise up".
Rise up, Dorsey! :P
No thanks.
Go Patriots! :) This is likely going to be a tough dogfight. Both teams have great offenses. Pat's defense is supposedly better and it could make the difference, if they play like they usually have been. But Atlanta has a powerful offense with many weapons so they're a different breed than most teams. And for that matter, the Patriot offense is similar with many weapons.

Biggest props of the night are to the CRTC (Canada's equivalent to the FCC), for mandating that if you watched an American channel for the Superbowl you could see American ads. First time in recorded history that a regulatory agency did something that was 100% pro-consumer, with no possible gain to the industry.
Personally I liked the John Malkovich ad as the best commercial. Yearbook was fun, Humpty Dumpty not so much.

Man that was amazing. Somehow I knew Brady would never be punked and man you cannot go to sleep on that guy. His weird mental pathology to need to win is just amazing. I just wish I could catch whatever he has. He is the greatest. I loved every second of it and man the NFL is going to be just a little less compelling when he finally hangs it up. When he turns 56 or whenever that crazy fucker does it, they will probably need to drag him off the field in a straight jacket.
There was that point with just under 4 minutes to go with the ball on the 20 where the Falcons just had to run the ball into the line three times, burn some clock, and kick it and the game was pretty much won. But somehow I knew they wouldn't do it. They just looked beaten. They looked tired. How can a team with four titles want it more than a team with none? Again the weird and bizarre pathology of Tom Brady and the Pats.
I am not sure what else to say. I am just fucking glad I am not a Falcons fan because I would not wish that on my worst enemy.

That's why the New England Patriots are the New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons are not. Teams with winning cultures--those that have learned how to win and win consistently in all varieties of situations--will more often than not edge out teams like Atlanta, who still need to learn how.

It's kinda meaningless now that we can all see them on the internet.
I think next year I'll be more likely to jump on the Falcons bandwagon. The city, for obvious reasons, isn't into the Falcons so much. They weren't really expected to make a run for the super bowl this year, so the city was as usual rather apathetic for almost the whole season. It was rather unattractive to see half the city discover the Falcons a few weeks ago, and for everyone to be behind the team. There wasn't much emotional investment in the team.
Next year the city will be focused on the team from the start. I think it will have a different feel.

The teams I root for are from Maryland and DC (the pro teams anyway). Traditionally not Yankee territory but their status as borderline Yankee is now debateable I understand. They and northern Virginia are being brought into the expanding Yankee cultural sphere I guess. Southern Florida and parts of North Carolina as well are being annexed into great Yankeeland as well I understand. But that is neither here nor there. My loyalties exist because my father lived there until his 20s and my family had resided in Maryland for over 250 years before then (and of course dozens of my cousins still do) and I spent my childhood visiting that part of the country at least once a year. My kids will have no such ties so sentimental feelings to Maryland probably die with me.

I am not yet prepared to cede North Carolina to Yankeedom or designate any area as irretrievably part of the North. It's freaking southern enough that I want to get the heck out and move back somewhere further north.

Yeah apparently 84 Lumber principals are pro-legal immigration, but anti illegal-immigration, which is why they showed a big-ass wall at the end, but with a door.
I don't think they thought that one through very well...

WTF is the point?
Tom Brady when throwing 50 pass attempts or more has a .667 win percentage. Number two on that list is Warren Moon at .500 with only 10 total games compared to 27. The vast majority of other QBs on that list are way under .500.
Tom Brady's win percentage when throwing 40 pass attempts or more has a .667 win percentage. Next on that list is Payton Manning with a .518 winning percentage. The vast majority of other QBs on that list are way under .500.
Tom Brady is the GOAT!
So he's going to hell?
All those tables prove is the premise that quarterbacks pass attempts increase when their teams are behind and more often than not lose the game anyway, while Tom Brady throws more when BeliTrump want to run up the score on teams because he's a fucking asshole.
Hard to think of a more meaningless statistic. W-L on days ending in the number 2?
Here's my stat: what's Brady's W-L record in Super Bowl games played against Eli Manning?
Haven't been on the forum since the game. Great game, amazing comeback win! I was shocked that they came from so far behind. I watched the parade in Boston today on TV. It went for over a couple hours, lots of fun.

Actually, there are football teams other than the patriots.
What i think is so cute is Europeans thinking that they have the real "football" when, in fact, association football is younger than American football (and Rugby football is older than either). it's especially delicious when they use the old "how can the Americans call it 'football' when they use their hands?" thus revealing that they are totally ignorant of what the 'foot' in 'football' actually means.

A few years ago, the American Football World Championships were held in Vienna.
The Americans won the final against Canada 50-7.
Their QBs were:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_McLaughlin
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cody_Hawkins
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matt_Bassuener
If those virtual nobodies can convincingly take the WC, then I'm ok with their best professional teams labeling themselves the best in the world. :P
The "World Series" claim in baseball might be more contentious.
I don't mind that the Pats won, or that the Falcons lost.
Well, that isn't true. I do mind. I hate seeing the Pats win, because they represent everything that is wrong about professional sports.
But I can live with that.
What sucks is that the Falcons went in there, and apparently were on a mission to seal Brady's status as the greatest ever. They couldn't just go in an lose 34-28 like a normal team. Score a TD, give up a TD, put up the good fight, lose to the better team.
Nope. They had to dominate the Patriots for an entire half, and set Brady and Bellicheck up for this incredible come back. Most passing yards in a Superbowl. Biggest comeback in a Superbowl. Blahblahblah.
Brady is a lying, cheating, douchebag and his infatuation with Trump is not even a little bit surprising.
But he is undeniably the most successful QB to ever put on a uniform in the NFL. It isn't even really close.
And the Falcons, if there is any justice, should never, ever win a Superbowl for going out there and forcing us all to recognize that. Again. Assholes.

Win at all costs.
I am, to be fair, over-stating it a bit, because it is fun to have someone to hate.
Also, there is a bit of dis-illusionment as well. I liked that Pats, insofar as I liked any NFL team. They had Tedy Bruschi, who is probably my favorite all time Arizona player. They have Gronkowski, who is certainly the most successful Arizona player to play in the NFL.
And they had Tom, who is just the poster boy for what should be everything right about sports. Sixth round pick, super confident anyway, and he is outstanding for the reasons that *I* want to think QBs should be outstanding for - the mold of Joe Montana and Peyton Manning. Not the fastest, or strongest, or most athletically talented. But the smartest and hardest working. Brady beats you before the ball is ever snapped, because he know what your defense is trying to do better than an appreciable number of guys on the field across from him.
What is not to love about the guy?
The fact that that is not enough for him. Him and Bellichek both - it isn't enough to just be better legitimately, which they are - they are the best run organization in the NFL. I say that not just because their results, but because I know people who have dealt with them. They are a fucking machine. The contrast between how they run things and other organizations is night and day, from everything I've heard. Which is why I laugh at the idea that Brady and Bellicheck don't know exactly what is going on at all times in their organization.
But that isn't enough. They have to cheat, and they do so without an ounce of regret or shame.
I will admit to being a bit puritanical about that, maybe it's my nature. But there is cheating that everyone does, trying to get an edge on the margins, and then their is just straight out betraying the trust of others to get some imagined slight edge, and that I despise.
And then Bellicheck is just such an asshole about everything. Him and Trump are two peas in a pod - blame the media for everything, take no personal responsibility except for the winning. There are probably less scrupulous players and owners in the NFL, so it is fair to say that the Pats get a lot of grief because they win so damn much, and that certainly increases the spotlight. But I don't have to see those other ones, assuming they exist.
But this ridiculous idea that the Pats do nothing that nobody else does, there is just this giant NFL and Goodell driven conspiracy to make shit up about them is laughable.
But, in a nutshell, it is their attitude that winning is in fact everything. It's the same reason I despised the Ravens for not caring that their super stud linebacker almost certainly murdered someone, or at best covered up for someone else who murdered someone. Who cares? He tackles real good!
TLDR: Because I am a puritanical bore.
Everyone cheats, the Pats just got caught.
Great coaches are assholes in every sports.
Beyond the cheating thing, what I really dislike about them are their fans. They're like Leafs fans, but on a winning team, so it doubly irks me
One of my favorite sports memories is back in 2013 when the Patriots played the Bengals here in Cincy. It was 13-6 Bengals and the Patriots got the ball with two minutes left in the game. Classic Brady comeback situation. But it suddenly started raining cats & dogs. Brady managed to put together a drive in spite of the weather, only to throw an INT to Pacman with a few seconds left.
Gotta admire his ability, though. I can't argue against him being Greatest Of All Time.
My first Superbowl was XLII
I even worked it into a script which I managed to sell...

Sounds a lot like Michael Schumacher in Formula 1. He was probably the best race car driver ever on merit, but probably also the dirtiest one, on the track and off it. He also seemed to never experience shame or remorse when he would occasionally be caught in some of his shenanigans. I guess it's very hard to be a dominant winner in a highly competitive sport without having a deeply pathological personality.

I've always wondered how this lie got so ingrained that people from certain tribes here repeat it as though it were such an obvious truth that they make it their assumption, not their conclusion.
I guess that's just the post-truth world of "alternate facts" and that it just came to the NFL sooner than to presidential politics.
