Sure, why not.  Just as many other assholes here running around, what's one more.

The stereotypical fag histrionics are at record lows and have stagnated around here anyway.  Hapsburg never posts anymore, Sheilbh is too mellow, and garbon is too cunty to qualify as a shrillosexual.

Meh, no one should be banned forever that was a "real" poster. The weird internet shill accounts or extreme lunatic edge cases I can understand.

I'd be willing to turn the dials to bring him back if people think that's a good idea.  In fact, it's probably a good idea.  If we were really going to eject him from Languish, we would have banned him entirely, not put him into a weird in-between area.  Either ban him or reinstate him, that should be the choice.

Besides, I'm rarely around anymore anyways, so his terrible nonsense wouldn't bother me if he came back.

I don't think Raz ever wanted Martinus punished.  The reason Martinus was punished was because the level of depravity he displayed by sending that IM to Raz truly disgusted us.

The threat was just the final straw.  The man has some serious issues, and was tempbanned repeatedly before the final fatal plunge.

well, i know he tended to react with hostility, and he insulted posters. even if he was the most volatile poster, i don't recall too many posts that were grossly out of line. general dislike for him coupled with the threat seemed to be the cause, but if that was the case then it seems a little overreactive given languish's history. maybe he was a lot worse in tbr, though

The man had massive, drunken meltdowns twice a week for years. The fact he lasted as long as he did was that nobody took him very seriously shall we say and he had to really exert himself to be kicked out. Sure, with the passage of time his antics take on a tinge of nostalgia but if he's the same loser as he was he'll just go back to being the ragey bitch that he was in the end.  :hmm:

I'm not sure what point you are trying to make.  Are you arguing that all of the temp-bans and the permaban were an over-reaction, or just the temp-bans, or just the perma-ban?

I'm not sure that "I don't recall the behavior that got him banned so many times" constitutes very persuasive evidence for an argument that he was a victim of over-reaction.

Mind, I am not arguing against his reinstatement.  I am just wondering what argument you are trying to make, because the apparent argument doesn't seem to make sense.

It wasn't a threat, it was encouraging a poster to commit suicide.

Lets not be so judgmental. Encouraging people to try new things is generally a good thing to do.

I admit that encouraging people to try suicide usually isn't seen positively. But maybe martinus was trying to be nice, and seeing how that is new to him, the results came out a bit awkwardly.

Now I've wished all sorts of death on posters over the years:  told Timmay to die out in traffic, among other methods;  told Mono I can't wait untilwe glass him with US nuclear weapons in the Limited Nuclear Exchange of 2028;  told derspiess not to fuck it up when he accidentally shoots himself in the head;  and pretty much told all of you to disappear collectively in a Malaysian airliner.

Quote from: Neil on June 04, 2013, 07:35:36 AM
Typical faggot nonsense.  As silly as Raz can be, he's still better in every way than Martinus.

FWIW Marti coming back could thus be argued to be good for Raz, as he'll look better by comparison.

Is Marti willing to make some public/humiliating mea culpa as part of coming back? That's also a key consideration.

Martinus banned me many times and showed no magnanimity toward me when I was permanently banned.

However, I know the emotional anguish that comes from being uprooted from this online home, and can wish that upon no man. I think that we should pardon him, and hope that display of mercy will cause Martinus to reflect on the blackness of his own soul.  :)

Voted no. I mostly lurk these days, but I can't say I've ever seen a thread and thought "Jeez, I wonder what Martinus thinks about that".

The main issue I have with Martinus is that he's not very bright, and thus, boring.

You know the funny thing?  The thing that we were arguing about that made him mad, he was ultimately right.  There were protests over some park in Turkey, and a lot of people wanted to see Erdogan brought down.  I didn't, he hadn't become a despot yet, and I didn't think replacing him with a dictatorship (which would have been the likely result in Turkey), was a good thing.  Here we are a year later and Erdogan has doubled down and gone all Putin.  So they are verging on dictatorship now if not already there now anyway.  I saw Erdogan as a right winger in the vein of Geroge W. Bush rather then Putin.

But Martinus works for a big international law firm, right?  He was briefly transferred to London or something, if I remember correctly.  The point being, that he must be paid in a sum that is competitive internationally.  Even if it is in Polish money, it must be a ton of Polish money that is still extremely attractive when converted to other currencies :mmm:

SO since I never commented on this before...

I am all in favour of Marti rehabilitating himself and coming back.  I have however seen little to no evidence that he has rehabilitated himself.  His sole comment was:

Quote from: MartinusI kinda miss Languish and you guys. Apologies to whomever I fucked over to get banned. Love. It won't happen again - I'm mellowed out now.

Well maybe he has mellowed in the intervening period.

Well he posted that just a couple days ago.

And that's a pretty mellow post for him. :contract:

Let the Pole be free!! :swiss:

So now that the people have spoken, can we get over this and allow some of us to ignore him when he 'returns'

Though I can't complain - I do okay (and probably better than Viper thinks I do).
Well, I should have added a smiley, I wasn't serious.  It's just that government jobs don't usually recruit people for the high paychek.

Anyway, I don't care what people make, it's of no interests to me.

If we're rehabilitating Mart and letting him back in from Siberia should we not at least force him to recant a previously firmly-held belief? Say, his gayfulness or antipathy towards Catholicism. Something that'll be costly to signal and shows his strong intent to rejoin the tribe.  :hmm:

What would Beria do?

He made some vaguely conciliatory statements, but I'm sure his anti-church rage came back.

Or... maybe he's accepted a position at the Vatican, who knows.

Minsky is one of the few you I don't have any idea on a real identity.  All I know is he's a Jew who works in at a lawfirm in Manhattan near Grand Central.  Maybe he works at Davis Polk.  If that was true, he'd be quite wealthy indeed.
And he hates Israel, jewish minorities, free market economy, and the tea party.

Tim still mass-posts news with pithy comments that are meant to sound deep but fail.
Dontsaybanana still makes every post about himself.
grumbler still has an enviable understanding of meaning of individual words while almost entirelu failing to understand the meaning of sentences and overall context.
