Not true per wikipedia:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endorsements_for_the_Republican_Party_presidential_primaries,_2016

Jeb has 5 current senators. Christie has 2 current governors. Cruz and Trump have none. Rubio has 4 current senators. Kaisch has 1 current governor and 1 current senator.

Bush leads the endorsement primary in the GOP, but Clinton has nine times has much as him.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

I have a horrible feeling that Sanders will win the Democratic nomination. Trump will win the Republican, and that Trump will then go on to win the election.  :(

Please convince me this won't happen.
Strong third party candidates will present themselves if Sanders and Trump win their party's nomination (such as Bloomberg).

If Trump somehow wins I like to think that America will look a lot like the bizzaro 1985 run by Biff Tannen in Back to the Future Part Two. Maybe, like Biff demolishing the Hill Valley Courthouse, Trump will demolish the White House and build a hotel casino in its place.

It makes me think of americathon.

I'm embarrassed. I've been making the mistake of associating with you. It won't happen again. :)

It is a simple matter of convincing yourself that Trump will be a good president.  One of the foundations of democracy is that the people know what is good for them.  So by definition, whoever they elect is good :contract:

In fact, the screenplay writer used Trump as his model for Biff Tannin.

Apparently, he's claimed that. But Snopes at least thinks this is a bit of "selective memory" on his part.  ;)

So, completely on her own initiative, my wife took one of those political quizzes to determine who her favorite candidate should be.  She asked me for some guidance on some of the questions and I did my best not to lead her one way or the other (no, really-- I was dying to see how this would play out).

So when the dust settled, her candidate was: Ted Cruz!  With Rand Paul running a close second and Trump not too far behind that.
