Jeb has 5 current senators. Christie has 2 current governors. Cruz and Trump have none. Rubio has 4 current senators. Kaisch has 1 current governor and 1 current senator.

I have a horrible feeling that Sanders will win the Democratic nomination. Trump will win the Republican, and that Trump will then go on to win the election. 

Please convince me this won't happen.

Strong third party candidates will present themselves if Sanders and Trump win their party's nomination (such as Bloomberg).

It is a simple matter of convincing yourself that Trump will be a good president.  One of the foundations of democracy is that the people know what is good for them.  So by definition, whoever they elect is good

So, completely on her own initiative, my wife took one of those political quizzes to determine who her favorite candidate should be.  She asked me for some guidance on some of the questions and I did my best not to lead her one way or the other (no, really-- I was dying to see how this would play out).

So when the dust settled, her candidate was: Ted Cruz!  With Rand Paul running a close second and Trump not too far behind that.
