That would be wicked awesome if Batman talked like Tim.

Gotham is canonically in Southern New Jersey, so he should probably talk like Governor Christie!
It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

I know that old comic covers were designed to sell issues and not necessarily to be an accurate representation of the content. Still, the Star Wars movie adaptation covers are partly a bit bizarre:

Death Star shooting at rebel base, and Han giving up:

Luke defending Leia with his lightsaber against Vader (and they're both left handed); also - Vader's codpiece:

And possibly the most bizarre of the six:
I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.

Is that last one supposed to be in Mos Eisley?

Luke looks an awful lot like He-Man.

That's what comics covers do.  A comic book cover is like a movie trailer:  It gives you an idea of what's going to happen, but it's usually overdramatized or slightly altered for marketing purposes.
I do not hate you, nor do I love you, but you are made out of atoms which I can use for something else.

The cantina massacre is still hilarious, though.

And Marvel just dumped another load of Star Wars comics on Unlimited, over 200. I was about to cancel my subscription, but now I'm more than covered for a few months (I typically read one or two per day, working myself through the old Marvel stuff atm).

Secret Wars has won me over.

I read that I should start with Hickman's Avengers & New Avengers.

I have done so, we will see if I can get into Super Hero stuff.

Any non-super hero comics recommendation? say a la DMZ?
Colonel Caliga is Awesome.

Syt

Walking Dead would be an obvious recommendation (the plot is different between show and comic).

Northlanders for some Viking bloodshed. Transmetropolitan for Hunter S. Thompson in a whacky future that satirizes ca. 2000 politics/society. Sandman if you like Neil Gaiman. Or Preacher, though the series is meandering a bit, and has a bit of mood whiplash between serious character drama and whacky goofy stuff. League of Extraordinary Gentlemen 1 & 2 is also very good; the other books in the setting are it and miss IMO.

Does Archie bore the Predator to death talking about his girl "troubles"?
To sleep, perchance to dream. But in that sleep of death, what dreams may come?

Jughead beats him at the most dangerous game of all: hamburger eating contest.

Nope, it's played straight.
