Sure, but commuting would be fairly painless. No need to stop at traffic signs or congestion.

We need more specifications Cal.  You want a pick-up, a SUV, a muscle car...?

Your boat will weight around 3600lbs + engine from what I've seen on the web.
I think it can still be towed by a car like the new Camaro or Challenger.

But if it ain't enough, the Chevy Silverado/GMC Colorado can do the job.  Available as a small 5cylinder or 8 cylinder (gaz, no need for the Duramax).  Fully equipped the GMC is a 34000 US$, for the 5-cylinder.


Car-wise, if you need AWD, I think something like this might be nice for you:

Yeah, you really do need the tow weight of the boat+trailer. Just google the model if you don't know.

Any decent SUV with enough towing capacity would be OK.  I say SUV instead of a pickup because I see your wife being more likely to dive the SUV.  And the handful of cars that have 4WD/AWD I doubt have enough towing capacity.
