Should have stuck with the rehab.  <_<

Rather than saying "no, no, no."

Oh, she was only 27? Another one for the club then.

I wonder if her fame killed her, or whether she would have just died young in anonymous circumstances had she not become famous  :hmm: ?

Strange she lasted this long really.

Yup, but I remember thinking in 2007, "this chick will be dead in 5 years"; so I was close.

I'm thinking the fame contributed, but she was mega-fucked-up anyway, so i think she was going to die young of alcohol poisoning no matter what.

Blacked out from drinking too much three times a week?  That's some heavy shit, and she was surrounded by enablers from a young age.

Interestingly, in the last Daily Mail article, nine days ago, about her before her death, there was this message posted at it's end.

And the subject of that last article, she'd gone for a walk near her Camden flat; 'UK tabloid press' is a synonym for intrusion.

What is the proper way to respond to this thread?  I never listened to her music, and only knew of her because of her horrible health caused by drug problems.  So I only really knew of her as "That chick with the funny hair who is going to die soon".  What would the proper post in a thread like this?  I really don't know, and don't want to sound callous.  This is for future reference, of course I probably already sound like an asshole.  So how could not sound like an asshole and still make a meaningful post in a thread like this in the future?

"Sad, but not surprising" would be a reasonable but not too snarky response.

Yeah, "Woman takes a walk" is a pretty lame headline, but about the level of what you expect from tabloid journalism.

RIP. I hope there are drugs in heaven.

First in with the "too soon" joke.

Most parents agree it's OK to give your kid a little smack. Mitch Winehouse took it a bit too far.

It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

Not unexpected. Pretty sad though, Back To Black is an amazing record.
