Quote from: Syt on December 13, 2024, 08:18:58 AMSo next FIFA World Cup will be in Canada/USA/Mexico. The 100 year anniversary one will be hosted by Spain/Portugal/Morocco, with some matches (one match?) being played in South America. Based on FIFA rules, that means Asia is up next to host.

Only candidate was Saudi-Arabia. So after Qatar 2022, the FIFA WC returns to the Arabian peninsula in 2034. :bleeding:

German FA head said that they're aware of the human rights situation in the country but that a boycot would only have served to isolate the German FA and would be counterproductive, and that this was the best way to open a dialogue/effect change in S-A.

"Standing up for our supposed values is actually a bit inconvenient, so we cannot really be expected to do it".

Not that the German FA is different to any of the other ones.

Zoupa, I hope you have reconsidered your loyalties when the trashy supporters of a trashy team from a trashy neighbourhood threw trash on their own pitch.

Norway drew almost the entire Axis powers in their group. Prepare for sinking the Blücher again!   :uffda:

1 game in three countries. Stupidest thing ever.

FIFA is possibly the only place you will find worse characters than in Trump's dream cabinet.

It's the SS without death camps.

100 % of wahhabi countries will have organised the football WC by the end of 2034.  :D
Will Saudi Arabia have to hire "fans" for most teams in their tournament à la Wahhabi World Cup in 2022?  :P

Well if they hire ManU fans, those won't have far too travel.  :bowler:

So the Magpies, with the club now owned by Saudi Arabia, still have local fans? Interesting.  :D

Newcastle's always had a large following. The Toon Army. Do not approach in dark streets.

With ManU, I am not sure, I think the other club which shall not be named across the city are stealing their fans. From all over the world.

The English Premier League is about the only way you can get in as an immigrant to the UK now.

Anyway, strong showing by Nottingham Forest tonight. There was even one local lad on the pitch. The referee had apparently forgotten his whistle, so the tackles flew, but the 4th referee did disallow a perfectly good goal.
And slept when Aston Villa should've had a penalty.

I think you will find that in English football the largest foreign following is for Liverpool. And, Saudi Arabia, if the Liverpool fans are coming, watch your hubcaps.

Josquius

Some NUFC fans complained about the Saudis but far more said they don't give a shit if there's executions at half time just so long as their team wins.

Sorry, we can't all be billionaires spending billions on shit players and having a roster of 50 players. Spurs are managed like a team should be.

COYS.

There's a pretty large following here. Even in my hometown of Oshawa, Ontario there's a pub that has "official Liverpool Supporters Club" status. I go there sometimes to watch games.

True story:
Two of my friends and some blokes with the money arranges "The Liverpool Festival" here. It has been going on for three years in a row, and people from around Europe flock here, even if it is just to drink and hear some former players talk about Liverpool FC.

There are bands and whatnot. Having seen Forest lose to Liverpool my entire youth, I would need to get paid to go.

Josquius

Liverpool seem big in Europe and Asia.
Though they seem to have totally skipped Africa. It's all Arsenal and Chelsea there.
Bar Egypt I expect because reasons.
