As for the original question - I suppose I'd wish for people to understand when to use facts and reason, and when to use emotion... that would solve a good many problems by virture of the ripple effect.

Oh don't be so emotional.

Superman powers, without Superman responsibility.

Very interesting.
This brings up a new interesting topic.

I would wish for the entire world to return to the barter system. :)
Dear god why?
Because then only the people who can actually do or make something will be valuable and everyone else will be dead and gone. :)
Yeah, that's what poverty is.

Haha. You must certainly realize that even if you reset human history and we are back to the barter system eventually some people will realize how to acumulate power and wealth, and in the end we will be back where we are now, no matter how long it takes.

Presumably you believe you are one of the valuable ones?  What exactly do you do?
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

It would certainly kill off the artists and the poets and the writers, but I think it would also kill off valuable people like research doctors, scientists, and disaster-recovery planners.  Obviously, it would eliminate police, and all forms of transportation save shank's mare, but those might not be huge losses.  If Meri is a criminal or a peasant, she would be okay.

Maybe the disaster-recovery planners had a plan for the disaster of someone wishing for mankind to go back to the stone age?
