That's actually no joke.  Any place with a fountain set-up, the soda water comes out chilled because of--I suppose--the heat transfer action of the CO2.  In any event, it's quite cold.

Tea is usually kept room temperature, however.  But room temperature tea actually tastes pretty decent.

Uhm, restaurants usually open a can or a bottle of a soft drink when they serve it to you, so I can't see how this would work.

Unfortunately, yes. Don't get me started on the sekt and the "sweet" wines popular there.

It brings me back to my teenage and college years.  Luckily nowadays I can afford better booze. 

And as others said, you only want to add ice cubes to your wine if it's of terrible quality and you are lounging on the beach next to a Ryanair planeload of Yorkshire teenagers in Mallorca. To do that with good stuff is a crime against humanity.
