If anything, he could recruit much more effectively at Arizona.
Because...?

I figure there are four factors that influence recruiting.

Head coach's brand appeal.  Obviously with Izzo that's a constant if he moves.

Brand appeal of the school.  Obviously Michigan St.'s is higher right now, but I don't know how much of that is due to Izzo.

Amount and quality of beaver and size of black student body.  Arizona does have some hotties, but what's black enrollment like?

Wealthy and cunning boosters who can provide wink wink summer jobs and such and escape NCAA scrutiny.  No opinion either way.

Yi are you implying that white men can't jump?

Yep, no question that the streak ends next year. Kind of amazing how long they've managed to hold onto 20 win seasons, really.

One of the things I liked about the idea of Izzo coming would be to see Arizona go back to recruiting not just the uber blue chip, NBA bound superstars. I mean, you need some of those to go all the way, but I would love to see more guys like Jason Terry. The one and done class is so....NBA, and not at all what makes college basketball satisfying.

What i loved about both Brockman and Brandon Roy before him at UW

Of course Brandon tried to test waters even after his frosh season iirc, was smart enough to come back and only bettered himself by staying the full 4 years..

Uhhh, no.

Arizona is a top-5 or top-10 national program over the last 20+ years. We are in the class with Duke, North Carolina, Kansas, Kentucky, etc., etc. We are Point Guard U. We have more guys in the NBA right now than almost any other school that isn't in North Carolina.

Right....I am sure black enrollemnt is a huge problem at Arizona. That must be why we cannot recruit any decent basketball players. Unlike Michigan.

OK.  Educate me.  What are the sources of Arizona's recruiting advantage?

Top 7

UCLA's run over last 10 years has knocked them back up to  top of west coast.
It's Duke, North Carolina, Connecticut, Kansas, UCLA

Arizona is with likes of Michigan St.

After that you have Kentucky, Indiana, Florida if i had to make a list.

Tucson.  The glamour and excitement is quite a lure.

Meh, you can debate whether they are #1-8 I guess - you can make arguments for why Arizona belongs as much as any of the 5 teams you listed. It ends up coming down to bickering over where you draw your time cutoff.

Actually after reviewing i'd bump Zona over UConn. to sixth or so.

Final Fours since 1988
Duke-9 trips, 3 titles
North Carolina-8 trips, 2 titles
Kansas-5 trips, 2 titles
Florida-4 trips, 2 titles
UCLA & Arizona- 4 trips, 1 title.

UConn just has the fact of 100% with final four apperances and Championships. :P

We bump UCLA and Florida for consistency in the tournament. And Kansas chokes too much.

Ain't no way Kentucky and Indiana are top tier national teams right now.

Here is a funny bit of trivia:

Arizona leads the nation in consecutive NCAA tourney appearances, at 25.

However, we are not even in the top 10 in total NCAA tourney appearances. We have....25.

I wish Texas could choke like Kansas does.
