Here is a funny bit of trivia:

Arizona leads the nation in consecutive NCAA tourney appearances, at 25.

However, we are not even in the top 10 in total NCAA tourney appearances. We have....25.
Too bad the streak is about to end.

The problem for Arizona is that it might become one of those schools that used to be good but nobody goes there anymore.

Duke could go that way too if they dont handle the coach K departure properly.

Dear Jesus,

I know I've been pretty rough on you at times, and even somewhat dis-respectful with the Carrot god and Dead Guy On a Stick comments and such. There may have been more, but you know that better than I.

I come to you as a beggar. A humbled man - a bare shell of what I once was. I come asking for your intervention. Your intercession. Your divine will to come down and make a looming travesty right.

Please dear Lord, do not let Jim Livengood hire Tim Floyd.

Signed,
Berkut

Izzo's been to the final 4 five times at MSU. Do you really think he could replicate that kind of success anywhere else?

Is there any reason to believe a good coach would not do better at a better school - like Arizona? :P

Oh really? How many final fours has Arizona since 1999?
It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

From an LA Times article about the two wildcat programs hiring new coaches this week.

QuoteKentucky is Alabama football, a program lost in perpetual time warp and flush with irrational exuberance.

Arizona is Florida State football, where the question is: What becomes of us after Bobby Bowden retires?

Bowden, like Olson, singularly made the program what it is.

The Tucson Wildcats are on the brink of possible oblivion.

Junior stars Jordan Hill and Chase Budinger are probably bound for the NBA, leaving the prospect of the school's first losing season since 1983-84, Olson's first.

The pressure is on, for once, in Tucson. In Lexington, pressure rises each day.

Folks are flooding into the D for the Final Four.  Better put another pot of soup on the stove, 'cause company's coming.  Sure glad we picked up around here.
