I've seen Admiral Yi's sword up close at the War Museum. It's absolutely ginormous, longer than I am tall, six feet easy.

Did medieval Koreans actually use swords this big, or were they just for show?

It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

C'mon Yi, it is in your genes. You have to know.
I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.

It's not the size, it's how you use it!

I saw child size armor once. Did medievals have battalions of 9 year olds?

You were probably abnormally large at the time.
Women want me. Men want to be with me.

Nope, they had: a chronic shortage of protein. :(

Anyway, I assume you are mocking Tim's OP, and rightly so. :)

I hear that happens. Some people swell up like a sponge and then deflate.

No, but in the Renaissance and a little later they sometimes put princes in ceremonial armor.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011
