I like my ships to go in a straight line, not crash into others at the dock.
I like my naval analysis not to be fucking retarded, as opposed to you telling me that you like the Yamato best because of the anime, or you like the Bismarck because the captain had pretty blue eyes.
Was she hott?

I do not hate you, nor do I love you, but you are made out of atoms which I can use for something else.

Wait a minute. Didn't I have like 3000 posts or so in my post count?
What the fuck happened?

We took them, and tossed them down a well.

We deleted all the stunningly idiotic ones.

Lucky for you we left only the marginally dense.

Though it's more "forgotten glory" than "legendary".

If it's popular legend, and not just naval grognards...then it would probably be USS Missouri.  Though Missouri got a rather late start.

Seriously?  I'd be interested inseeing you make the case.  Five battle stars seems a long way from Big E's 20.

I think you are back to "popular" again.  I don't think Missouri did anything to make it legendary, though it was well-known because of the Japanese surrender signing.

The Missouri was one of the longer serving ships.  Not many battleships have been armed with nukes.  Anyway, I voted for the the Big E.  I'm not even a naval fan, but I know about that one.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

I have never killed anybody with a knife.
You will be my first, if you keep pocking my eye with your little stick.

Now, if we were talking my lower knife, the one 6 inches long, then I would have to tell you that even though I haven't killed anybody with it either, I have hurt a lot of feelings. Sadly, you are far too ugly for me to try to penetrate your body with my 6 inches knife. I reserve this one for Garbon, with whom I remain deeply infatuated.
