So what's up with PK Peladeau running for the PQ in the election?

What does a billionaire want to be doing as an elected politician?  I don't get it.
Posts here are my own private opinions.  I do not speak for my employer.

About the porn, that's just as silly as the rest of Canadian content requirements for channel.  If Canadians are proud of their culture, they'll ask for their own programming.

The Globe had a great cartoon on Thursday. Basically a porn set, a man and woman doing their thing and a guy holding up cue cards that read "Yes ,Yes, Yes, eh!"

Can you guys, just to make any other politician look good, run Rob Ford in every election?

Dont worry, that appears to be his plan.

Your very own Berlusconi   :)

Thankfully not a clown like the other.  But from many accounts, an iron grip in a steel gauntlet.  Viper should be pleased since I predict, come a PQ majority, that he will lead the slim cure badly needed in the bureaucracy.  And then there are the rumors about his ambitions to replace Marois as leader of the party and Prime Minister when the time comes.  At last the PQ is reforming a coalition to drive the separatist project.  As the man said himself: "the road to independance is neither left or right but forward."

We shall see.  It appears he is refusing to divest himself of his media interests.  So far its sounding like the same song second verse.

I should hope so! "Here - let me destroy my power base in order to serve".  It doesn't make sense.  His assets will be placed in a trust controlled by others until he returns to private life.  It could be sooner than expected btw, because I don't think he will remain in politics if the PQ looses the upcoming election.

Ah, I sense a double standard brewing in the fair province of Quebec.  You admit that his media holdings are his "power base" which implicitly acknowledges he can and should use it for his political purposes.

With followers like you I am sure my prediction will come true.  :)

Second, you sound surprised that English is the most obvious practical choice.
No, I am not.  It is the most useful language to posess.  I am not advocating someone choses English over another language as his way of life, though.

Then given the hypothetical world which you asked me to consider in which a citizen of the world may only speak one language, why did you disagree with my choice?

His father was a long time sovereignist.  He has always been close to the PQ, has evidenced by the Videotron deal wich made us lose millions of dollars.  His ex-wife supported the PQ more than once.

Also, Quebecor media in a independant Quebec would be #1 player in the field, pushing Desmarais's Power Corp to #2.
An independant Quebec would have it's own "CRTQ" and similar rules of ownership for medias, wich would favor Peladeau's empire more than others.

Ask Bloomberg.  Paul Martin was only a millionaire, IIRC, so that doesn't count.  Though at the time, Duceppe wanted him to choose between politics and his business.  It doesn't seem the same now, strangely...

You either genuilely misunderstand my question, or you are willingly misunderstanding.

Can you conceive someone speaking only English in Quebec?
Can you do the same for someone elsewhere in Canada, albeit with French?
