A good discussion regarding how social media has killed news media in Canada by siphoning away advertising dollars, and what can be done about it, or why nothing can really be done.

The most sobering observation was made by Paul Wells.  Even if we could convince Canadians to subscribe to newspapers again, or even if Ottawa heavily subsidized newspapers so they had the same number of staff they had 15 years ago, politicians have learned they don't have to talk to reporters anymore.  They can communicate with voters directly through social media.

Is it possible to have a lavish retreat at a Holiday Inn? In Sudbury?

Thank you, CC.

It's great news that a fundamental tenant of capitalism still works in this country. Sometimes, it really look like it won't.

That seems ripe for parody. Needless to say, it doesn't look like the Canada of most Canadians.
