That's why it was a joke and not something to be taken as a straight fact. Otherwise, I could have also pointed out that I didn't say that Manuel was a Spanish stereotype - I just simply noted the casual xenophobia/racism (which incidentally comes from Basil).

Also, when Fawlty Towers was produced, unemployment in Spain was historically low.

So glad to have this show back again. Season opener was really fun, though I'm a bit skeptical of a gay dude driving 2 hours one way, in the middle of the night, to have sex with someone high on molly.

I'm just watching this right now. It's... curious. What the fuck is that? Love Valor Compassion meets Harry Hay? Still, not hating it yet. Will let you know when I get to the end of the episode.
