I saw State of Play yesterday.

Predictable, decent acting, clichés, Rachel McAdams. 4/10

A friend recommended the Sparacus Blood and Sand show. So I watched the sex clips from it on the Internet.

Done with that show.

The filler content between the sex clips is just a lot of badly CGI'ed blood, so you did the right thing.

Yeah, that whole Spartacus thing is poo.

I need to find a slave collar replica tho. Choking the slave girl with her own collar? HOT.

Seedy and Liep, how far in did you get to the series?  I thought it actually was pretty decent after the 3rd or so episode.  The first couple episodes are just terrible 300 ripoffs, but it actually hits it's stride and continues on pretty well throughout the rest of the first season in my opinion.  I watched the prequel series they did and found that to be decent as well.  Nothing groundbreaking or earthshattering in scope or results, but definitely watchable television.  I plan on watching the ensuing 2(I think) seasons at some point.

There really wasn't much else. You just missed the oiled naked men wrestling each other.

Got Oblivion, John Carter, Drive, and Escape From NY from Amazon and High and Low and Repulsion from Netflix today. :punk:

Random stuff:

1)And another thing that pisses me off about Criterion: their preposterous BD prices are, probably, what keep Netflix from stocking a lot of Kurosawa films in high definition.  High and Low is easily available on BD, but not on BD thru Netflix (see also The Killing, which is available only on DVD, even though it's a very famous and highly commercial movie that should be readily available to the people).  Fuck these monopolist scum.  And fuck Toho--I bet they're losing money on the deal compared to doing their own BD releases and distributing thru a less hoity-toity niche marketer.

2)Did you know there was a new Zoe Bell movie called Raze about underground female gladiatorial games?  Isn't that fucking great?  Isn't it an indictment of society that it's on a film festival circuit instead of being given a nationwide theatrical push, yet 2 Guns opened in like 2000 theaters?

Now I do. Maybe. Nah.

It certainly blasted apart all of my preconceived notions that we've reached a stage, as a species, that could be described as "civilized."  YMMV.

I would say people voluntarily shooting at each other is more civilized than people being forced to fight gladiator games.

I think you missed the important part: it's a movie with Zoe Bell in a role where she gets to actually say a fucking line.

Yes, I watched Oblivion earlier today.

Started watching the X-files again.  Went through seasons 4 and 5 then watched the movie.  Now I'm getting to season six I'm seeing a decline in quality.  I think this was about the time when I stopped watching the show.  Current espisode is "Dreamland" which has an extremely hackneyed premises and is just goofy.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011
