Speaking of making fun of Star Trek, has anybody been watching Star Trek: Lower Decks?

Last weeks episode was a fanservice doozy.  A Star Fleet effeciency consultant comes on board and has all the crewmembers doing simulated missions in some kind of portable holosuites - and of course they're all from old Star Trek episodes.  There was even "Steal the ship and rescue Spock from the Genesis planet" - which the crew failed by not managing to get out of Spacedock.

Highly recommended if you're a Star Trek fan.

Yes, I'm watching that season too.  It's even funnier than the first one, imho :D
Boimler on the Titan facing life&death situation every day :D :D
There's only been one season before this one :P

It wasn't so much making fun of Star Trek as it was making fun of Trekkies.

Really enjoying the season far. Though it does seem fairly horny this time around. :D

one particular holodeck mission was a reminder of a S1 episode of TNG ;)

And of course that TNG episode (The Naked Now) was a sequel of sorts to a TOS episode (The Naked Time).  :nerd:

My seven year old of course didn't catch any of the references but thought it was hilarious how everyone was wearing no clothes and how Shaxs was yelling "It's Naked Time".

I'm a few episodes into series 2 of Lower decks. I'm enjoying it. My gf who has only seen discovery star trek wise I suspect tolerates it.

The, the most awkward "where is this show going ..." moment was by far the Mugato mating scene, though. :D

Trailer for Hinterland, a murder mystery around war veterans set in 1920 Vienna.

The distorted backdrops has shades of German impressionism.

There's a distinct lack of Austrian accents for a movie set in Vienna. though. :hmm:

Also, this week's Lower Deck was excellent. I don't think we've seen much of Vulcans just being among themselves or how their ships operate? Nice story about the Klingons, and I expect we'll see the HOT HEADED Vulcan lady in the future on the Cerritos.

And the credits scene was the cherry on top.

Been watching a doc called fever pitch the rise of the Premier league about the leagues early history.
Interesting nostalgic stuff.
So wonderful to see Cantona in his regular house with his regular car and awesome jumpers. It nicely mentions the positive side of the kung fu kick.
I didn't realise it but it seems gambling is to blame /thank for Newcastle never winning the Premier league :hmm:

Forgot to add: the Wrath of Khani-ish combat music during the space battle was an awesome touch. :)
