Star Trek Discovery returns November 18th (or 19th on Netflix, I guess). There's been a screenshot of what might be a Ferengi, and people are already raging. It's beautiful.

I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.

I don't do meditation.  I drink alcohol to relax, like normal people.

If Microsoft Excel decided to stop working overnight, the world would practically end.

Raging about the design, or him joining Star Fleet?
To sleep, perchance to dream. But in that sleep of death, what dreams may come?

The design. Nog set the precedence for Ferengi in Starfleet (and a third season episode had the U.S.S. Nog in honor of the deceased actor Aaron Eisenberg, which people seemed to like a lot), so people seem cool with that..

There's Someone Inside Your House. Masked killer who exposes his victims' secrets stalk high school kids. Much better than average for the genre, it's a pretty good movie.
Women want me. Men want to be with me.

Weren't the ferengi uncontacted until TNG?

Oh wait, they're in the future now, right?
Being lazy is bad; unless you still get what you want, then it's called "patience".
Hubris must be punished. Severely.

Not seeing the big deal with the ferengi changes tbh. Not as much a departure as the klingons which also didn't bother me.
Did any fans complain about the tos to tng redesigns?

I finished the watch.
And dammit this is a decent series. The pratchet fans hate before even watching it I fear my have torpedoed the hope for series 2.

I imagine they did, but fans back then and their ways of communicating were very much Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons so we don't know.

Is the Zodiac I'm watching now on Netflix, with Robert Downey, a recent remake, or the movie I watched about 10 years ago?

Habbaku

That'd be the movie you watched 10 years ago.
The medievals were only too right in taking nolo episcopari as the best reason a man could give to others for making him a bishop. Give me a king whose chief interest in life is stamps, railways, or race-horses; and who has the power to sack his Vizier (or whatever you care to call him) if he does not like the cut of his trousers.

Government is an abstract noun meaning the art and process of governing and it should be an offence to write it with a capital G or so as to refer to people.

Weird how it made zero impression on me first time around.

One of my favourite films - probably my favourite by Fincher. I absolutely love it.

So, the last big hit of the Catalan TV is the Turkish adaptation of "This is us". I watched an episode, and it's truly weird.
