The original cartoon crossed over from time to time. Having He-Man and She-Ra team up in this series would have been a great idea if that was the target audience they are going for.

They're probably building it. Because we live in the MCU so they're putting all the bits of the franchise in place. No doubt we'll soon get Duncan's origin series of how he went from a humble leather bar to He-Man's closest ally.

The new She-Ra seems to be pretty decent. Of course there was an outcry from some "fans" that new She-Ra wasn't sexy enough any more.

I don't know about fake fans wanting sexy She-Ra fan service but holy shit did I hate the art style in that show. Just horrid.

It was some faux-Anime stuff.  We tried watching it since our friends love it.  Not my bag, and fortunately, not my wife's either.

No idea for myself. Its a sequel to a show I last watched 30 years ago.

I think the new She-Man character is fresh and current. But do the guys who watched He-Man in the 80s do that?

Yeah it is basically background noise to everything and generally if something is good that stops pretty fast.

Amazon's LOTR series (set during the Second Age) will come in 2022.

That looks like a picture of the two trees and perhaps Tirion, seems pre-first age to my eyes. Beautiful, is there more?

I know nothing of the Masters of the Universe franchise, but I don't think I've ever seen a bigger mismatch between critical reviews and audience scores on Rotten Tomatoes! 😄

The critics apparently loved it - not so the average audience, at least the ones who leave scores on this site.

Similarly the IMDB score is low.

RT often provides higher ratings for tv shows than movies.  I suspect it is because movie critics earn their marks by thrashing popular movies and praising those that appeal only to a fraction of the population (like a love romance between a young gay and his transvestite friend) while tv critics seems to almost never have anything bad to say about the tv shows they review, even the real tv garbage. But they are also more specialized.  You'll see a geek tv critic reviewing geek shows, a real tv fan reviewing these and soap operas, while in movies, Roger Ebert could review Transformers Bark of the Moon as well as Brokeback mountain.
