You're watching Netflix, not HBO.
To sleep, perchance to dream. But in that sleep of death, what dreams may come?

So, HBO published the most watched shows of January 2021 in Spain, and at #4... Game of Thrones. It's been consistently in the Top10 since it finished. Certainly can't blame them from trying to milk Westeros as much as they can.

How did 30 monedas do? I saw Alex de la Iglesia saying that they're waiting for HBO's go ahead before they can start preparing the next season, so I guess they only signed for one season at first.

Blade (1998)

In one of the GURPS rule systems there was a cinematic power called "Bullet proof nudity", so that when your character took off his shirt or stripped down to her lingerie he or she became harder to hit (so you could play a Rambo type character.)  I hope, with the release of the Blade movies, they added a "Ass-Kicking Sunglasses" ability.  Without his sunglasses Blade's ass kicking power is about level William Shatner; but when he puts the shades on it leaps up to level Batman.

This is a gleefully over-the-top orgy of blood starring Wesley Snipes back when he was the blackest man alive.  The action scenes are action sequences are very well done, and the special effects are top notch, prefiguring the Matrix's bullet time.  The plot mostly exists to get us from one ass kicking scene to the next; but I doubt anyone went to a Wesley Snipes vampire movie expecting anything else.  (And really that's what made the movie work.  The one point where the writers tried to give Wesley some emotional depth and set up some scenes with his
mother
just turned out to be really icky.)
In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace—and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock

Started watching the Queen's Gambit last night.  Very compelling show.  I love how accurate the chess scenes are and that you can see the more dramatic moves and see why an opposing player conceded the game, without it being the centerpiece of the shot.

I hope he's doing good numbers abroad, then! I doubt HBO would pay for the show if it was only for the Spanish market.

First episode of Knightfall. In this alternate reality the Templars don't worship Bahomet and eat da poo poo. I like that they've made some attempts to recreate actual historical locations. I don't know if I'll watch more though, not a lot of naked stuff.
I didn't find the first half of the first season that good.

HBO has a titties quota per episode.

I was watching Knightfall on HBO. For messerschmitts: I know it's not an HBO production.

Unfortunately, not available in Canada - I have read rave reviews about the remastered look - here is a description of what they did "it's using 4K scans taken from the original camera negatives. Then, the team at Warner Bros downscaled the show back to HD quality (so as to not make it look eerily sharp), did a color correction and removed any dirt and scratches from the scan.  According to Engadget, Warner Bros. didn't pull the same mistake seen in the original Babylon 5 DVDs..."

'Hostiles' Christian Bale as a US Cavalry officer commanding one last mission across the West, set during the 1890s, surprisingly good, though the real star is the different Western landscapes.
