The Brain

Started watching Galveston (criminal does revenge stuff), from 2018. A few minutes in a teenager unironically talks about a company being "in the phone book". LOLWUT? I had to stop right there. Either the writing is horrible or there is some culture divide that was unaware of.

I had to use a phone book not that long ago when my interweb was down.  Damn that type is tiny.

'The Dig' (2021) - Archaeology, lead up to WW2 and the English class system, what's not love about it.  :bowler:

Well worth a viewing and thanks to Mal for highlighting it in another thread.
Suffolk friends are thrilled the Suffolk accent is getting proper representation on film and also that it is a proper Suffolk accent and not actually just Somerset <_<
Let's bomb Russia!

I am enjoying The Great. And yeah, I get that it isn't supposed to be real. I mean, Christ, the Swedish ambassador to Russia is black.

Season three of Disenchanted - they finally figured out what they wanted the show to be.  And it is very good.

BB - don't  watch this one with your kids.

Brain, yes it does.

Ah well, might give it another chance then. Quit the show halfway through season 2.

I really enjoyed the first few episodes of the Great, but somehow I kinda lost interest. Not sure why, but it just felt like more of the same each episode.

Steamland is really awesome, art wise - so many great Art Deco details!

I should get back to that show.  I watched a few episodes and kind of petered out, with the last one being where they just introduced Steamland (the archdruidess dropped a map in her escape).

For me, it is worth watching for the background art alone.

It was a good movie, but totally not what I was expecting ... I actually wanted to know more about the dig itself, the stuff they found and the like! The movie was more an exploration of coming to terms with doomed relationships, and the looming inevitability of grief and loss. Which was great in its own way.

I subscribed to Crave (Bell's streaming service. It's where to get HBO in Canada) & It annoys me that I cannot have HBO in english & french at the same subscription. I have 2 pick 2 different addons. I don't think I'll continue my sub after my initial 2 month free because of that.
