The one that blends in the most and you don't notice.

How is that our platonic ideal?

They so embody Languish they are indisguishable from the board it's self.

So what's that got to do with Plato?  Or even Dana Plato, for that matter?

They would be fairly lifeless I suppose.  Like both Plato and Dana Plato.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

Sorry, but your membership in the Axis of Emo disqualifies you.

Since I am sure this is not an honor, I say it is not me.
I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.

It's a requirement.

p.s. You are a fellow member.

I nominate BarristerBoy.

1. Foreigner, but from a benign, neutral country. Living in the Yukon is a bonus, since most everyone here lives in a cultureless shithole.
2. Conservative, but not extremely so. He's also racist as hell.
3. Went to an unremarkable university and became a lawyer.

It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

There is no Platonic ideal; most of us are pretty opinionated so there is no group ideal of what a poster should be.

The most vocal and prolific posters are somewhat quirky and thus difficult to generalize apart from an interest in history and gaming.

I think the notion you're trying to get at is the Languish silent majority or Languish's Joe Sixpack.  That would be: American, male, white, 20s to early 30s, employed in IT or IT-related.  Includes you Peter Wiggins, Notorious, MIM, maybe Tonto Ritus, and about 5 or 6 other posters whose names don't leap to mind or who changed names and further blurred their identities.

Includes you Peter Wiggins,

I'm glad I'm so good at faking normality. Honestly I'm as messed up as Raz or Crunch.
