Oh, I was reading a WaPo article the other day and the whole "Catholic fanaticism" is still truly alive.

Is it? Generally Americans tend to just assume most Europeans are godless atheists. Even the Archbishop of Canterbury is looked at with suspicion. "Probably a communist" we think.

Yeah, it was an article discussing the rather unfortunate anti-racist stamps recently released by our post office. The writer discussed how our PO has always had a liberal bent, and was genuinely surprised by it given we are such a conservative Catholic country

As I say that is almost the vernacular style for sports plus social issue/commentary. I've seen similar by one of the channels about covid/football without fans and BLM. It's the house style for some reason.

It's probably one of those things were someone did it once really well and creatively and now every ad/promo vid is trying to re-create it.

I think during my time in Spain I may have seen a few people visiting a church who were not tourists

I mean I saw greater religiosity in France, but granted I was there far longer. Like there was this one family I visited who actually said grace before every meal and had all the Catholic bling everywhere. I remember being surprised they still made French people like that. So I am sure they are out there in Spain someplace.
