I usually don't follow that much the lives of artists I like.

He went on a drunken "Keep Britain white" ramble before a concert back in the 70s and never really disavowed it.

I'm very much in the "love the art, not the artist" camp but the two-fer of Clapton and Morrisson being covidiots may be too much to take 

If it helps, Clapton's been pretty racist since the 70s

And not just casually racist but white power racist.

That's especially odd given the vast majority of the music he has played has it's roots in American black culture.

Oh am not doubting you, just that him being in origin a blues guitarist, how could you not connect/empathies with core of that music?

Yeah, it's quite paradoxical, but well, what can be said, people are complex and some people are just wankers.

I've never heard of fax being used for legal stuff here.

pre-pandemic, fax was being used a lot for legal stuff.  Even by e-mail, I'd get scanned fax documents from the lawyers. 

Anything involving the govt was done by fax.

Ireland had a stricter lockdown and shut down non-essential retail (like Wales). But the shops opened again this morning. This was a queue outside the Irish version of Primark in Dublin at 4.30 am

The queues outside Barcelona's Primark flagship during BF were two blocks long.

We'll probably have the same once shops open again. Theoretically, lockdown should ease off next week, and infection numbers are down, but currently it's unclear if it will happen. Next week is Dec 8th, which is a public holiday *except* in retail, so it's an important Christmas shopping day.
