With the current government her job was hard enough already.   Also take this into the Canadian politics thread.  Nobody wants to read about a Conservative witch hunt in this thread.

This was quite interesting from the FT on the tiers v risk measures:

Most of the decisions seem right (despite the media moaning). The higher risk areas seem (rightly) in the top tier. The harsh decisions/let-offs seem driven by geography - so the outer boroughs of London are doing worse than the inner boroughs, but it's not clear that multiple tiers in London is practical; similarly Stratford-upon-Avon seems harsh, but the wider West Midlands is far higher risk (and far bigger in terms of population).

On the other hand it feels like other bits of the South-West (like Dorset) might move into Tier 1 soon.

Johnson: "Your tier is not your destiny. Every area has the means of escape."

Is it me, or does this sound dystopian? Sounds like something you'd hear on Hunger Games.

British Twitter has been enjoying the various dystopian elements of the Tiers - definitely seen lots of Hunger Games memes.

Also the Cromwell Museum mapping the Tiers onto the various Major Generals etc.

We still have the traffic light system, but no measures are tied to the levels (green, yellow, orange, red). Besides, the whole country has been red for weeks now.

I've been looking at the ECDC maps for a while now and feel like they need to add new colours at the top of their range. I'm just not sure how useful I find a data visualisation if everywhere is red except for Finland

They did that in Germany for that district where people then streamed on the streets to protest lockdown measures.

If somebody is keeping track of all covidiot celebrities, you can add Eric Clapton to the list:

Deaths per week in Austria for age group 65 and up:

(under 65 looks like previous years)

So I've been waiting to see if it holds up for the last week, but it seems like there's a fairly clear decline in new cases and in the number of hospitalisations - though deaths are still rising (but we know that lags):

I'm very much in the "love the art, not the artist" camp but the two-fer of Clapton and Morrisson being covidiots may be too much to take

If it helps, Clapton's been pretty racist since the 70s :console:

And Morrison has been dead since the 70s.
To sleep, perchance to dream. But in that sleep of death, what dreams may come?

And not just casually racist but white power racist.

I had no idea

I usually don't follow that much the lives of artists I like.
