Just thinking about foreign leaders one thing I've always wondered is what happens/if there'll be knock-on effects for the foreign leaders that have really backed Trump to the hilt. I don't really mean the Putins of the world, but politicians leading countries who have normally relied on pretty broad bipartisan support like MBS and Saudi or Bibi and Israel.

From the outside it's always struck me as a very big gamble to back Trump that much because there's always been a reasonable chance he'd lose and given how strongly Democrats feel wtih him it seems risky to bet the house on him. But a few leaders have anyway - I just wonder do people think it'll have any impact maybe domestically as well as with a Biden administration for Bibi and more in terms of their relationship with a new Democratic administration for MBS.

Edit: Also both seem to have bet big on Kushner which seems even stupider.

I've always had the impression that both sides have always been willing to take Saudi money.

Neither MBS nor Bibi seem to be the brightest among world leaders. MBS in particular appears to have bungled a lot of things he started.

Yeah. But I mean Bibi's a survivor and part of his entire pitch has been he knows how to play the US. But since Obama he's entirely focused on the GOP and bet everything on Trump. It seems like a surprising and risky strategy for him and Israel - especially given ther continuing debate/divergence in the diaspora in the US.

It sort of reminds me of how the NRA used to be pressure group with supporters in both parties that funded both parties.

Talking about the NRA, who are basically a GOP Super PAC at this point...

Just like Radical Left New York is trying to destroy the NRA, if Biden becomes President your GREAT SECOND AMENDMENT doesn't have a chance. Your guns will be taken away, immediately and without notice. No police, no guns!

What's New York doing to the NRA?

The medievals were only too right in taking nolo episcopari as the best reason a man could give to others for making him a bishop. Give me a king whose chief interest in life is stamps, railways, or race-horses; and who has the power to sack his Vizier (or whatever you care to call him) if he does not like the cut of his trousers.

Government is an abstract noun meaning the art and process of governing and it should be an offence to write it with a capital G or so as to refer to people.

Yeah that is how the federal government works. They do things immediately with no notice.

The attempts to brand Mr. Compromise Joe Biden as some kind of leftist, much less a radical leftist, is pathetic. It just shows how worthless trying to be a bipartisan moderate is these days. You might as well be a radical socialist.

Which to me is the big mistake the right is making here in the US. If I have to choose between populist nationalism and socialism I am going with socialism and not because I am some big socialist. Them going all in on this kind of nonsense is going to shift the country left and they only have themselves to blame.

There are still lots of pro-gun second amendment people on the left. They and their militias are all over these protests. They just kind of do their own thing now.

bah.  It'll be back to good old populist patriotism after the next election, don't worry ;)
I don't do meditation.  I drink alcohol to relax, like normal people.

Not sure what you are talking about. Probably some bitter Quebec thing.

I drank because I wanted to drown my sorrows, but now the damned things have learned to swim.

Parts of the right just can't admit Trump makes any mistakes
